E-Manage powered Mazdaspeed!

For me, it took around an hour or two to get all the wires soldered in on the emanage. There is no trick to the timing, you just wire it into the wires from the pcm that run to the coils, its wired just like the j&s safeguard is wired to retard timing.

you solder the emanage haness striaght into the wriing harness?? hmmm i wish some one could point me to a place to buy harness connectors to fab my own harness to plug and play

My total install time took much longer than normal because of removal of the haltech and cleanup of extra wires. The profec itself took about 30 minutes to hookup. The e-manage probably took the longest because of my nack for professionalizing things. I think around 3-4 hours including prepping wires, extending them, and soldering, hiding...etc..

Everything is pretty direct for soldering, no crazy tricks, just 1 simple resistor to get in there, and the rest is straightforward. I did hook up an ignition bypass for dyno purposes.

Need .... more .... info ......
Must ..... have ..... How-To ......

GJ man, nice work.

Update 12-15-03:

I had a chance to play around with the map settings this morning on the drive in to work. I was doing my tuning through the Airflow Adjustment Map removing excess fuel. I tried pulling about 50% fuel out at 2000rpm to see if it was working and sure enough I had a huge lean spot.

It will take quite a bit of time to get the tuning dialed in how I want, but once I get on the right path it shouldn't be long till it is perfected. I haven't been able to verify if timing changes have affected anything yet, but I will play with that after the fuel is smoothed out.

wow 50% seems like alot, not that i really know though..

littering and smoking the reefer.

turboge, is that car you are working on flashed?

I know, had to verify it somehow =) I was actually wondering why my changes weren't taking effect as I was subtracting (used to the haltech) and I ended up going to -50 then pressing "SET" and it leaned out instantly.

Yes my car is flashed.

I as well would like to see a how-to. I have a e-manage sitting here.

Arunto + Dexter - The how-to is in the works right now but it will be in PDF format with pictures and all. The wiring diagram will be included in that. I have to do a quick touchup to it.

freaking excellent man.

My car is unflashed though. Do you have any links or descriptions of how the tuning process on the emanage works? ive played with the Haltec tuning software and its bargraph system, but the i havent taken a look at e-manages chart style stuff, mainly because i dont have the tuning software

AWESOME turboge...im ordering my e-manage in january along with all the harnesses....btw, which e-manage group are u on yahoo?

turboge, this will get rid of boost/fuel cut right? Also, the injector harness looks very easy to replicate. Does the same go for the ignition harness? Is it just extra wires aswell? And lastly, do you recommend getting the pressure sensor for the e-manage? Thanks.

ahh yes, also turboge, can i plug my greddy boost pressure sensor into the emanage and also tap into the harness and connect it back up to my boost gauge?

Dexter - It is a Cell based type of input. Each cell represents a load value and you enter -X or +X in increments depending on the map.

Autobox - Just the normal "emanage" one that isn't for Supra owners.

InsidiousMSP - This will clamp the MAF at a voltage just under the cut point, from there it will use the Pressure sensor to calculate load. The pressure sensor is a necessity when going past boost levels where the cut occurs. The injector harness is only extra wires and pins. The ignition harness is a seperate plug and you'll need the wires and pins to create that as well.

Speedy - It's updated almost every day. Today I set the boost cut clamp at 4.80v and added fuel to the upper RPM range to deter detonation. The installation is a success, and the tuning is underway. My wideband sensor was delayed until tomorrow, so I will be working on other things until it arrives.

So now that you have it in, how do you feel about the e-manage as an engine management solution compared to the Haltech E6X?

For someone like me who is going to have all the supporting mods (ION FMIC, ION CAI, ION 3" Turboback Exhaust) Which is going to be a good solution for running safely on stock internals as a 10-12psi daily driver on our watered down 91 octane gas?
