.5 'speed
165.4whp/185.2 torque @ 8psi
187.6whp/202.7 torque @11psi on a Dynojet
K&N drop in, JoeP MPC & FCD, colder plugs. mid 50's temps outside. Overall very pleased with the results!:)

What do those numbers translate into at the flywheel? Just curious to compare against stock figures... and is that flashed or non-flashed?

Search ecu flash for more info - there is a "hesitation" issue with the stock MSP, and Mazda service department will "flash" your ecu to eliminate this problem; however, the flash advances the timing which as I understand it makes it harder to raise the boost on a flashed ecu.

Just some quick math based on numbers I have seen posted. I have seen postings of stock WHP ranging from 138 to 147. I am going to take the mean of that which gives me 143. So assuming 143WHP and 170 at the flywheel stock you have a difference of about 16%. So based on slowhands numbers you would have an approximate 197 HP at the Fly for the first run and 223 Hp at the Fly for the second. These #'s are all approximates based on average numbers assuming a consistant 16% difference in WHP and the flywheel. 223 Sounds DAMN good to ME!

Yes I have been Flashed! Unable to download the sheet at this time. Sorry.
I run 8/9 psi daily, so I was stoked at the numbers we got. The 11 psi run was for info only:eek:

Great, more proof that the MSP can be made to be a Bimmer Killah  <---uneeded smiley in this post. :D

thats nice

I will dyno my spool kit next weekend...not sure if im going to get good numbers i think my injectors are maxing out.

mmm, the spool stage 3 kit =) yummy :D BTW igdrasil, are those times at the bottom of your sig before or after the Spool kit?

This are excellent number for so lil mods and money. This shows that sometimes people go looking for power in the wrong places.

Its always better to start with the simple things first, like making exsisting systems perform better.

before the spool kit I was able to do 17.0s - 16.8s with 84MPH and 105HP @ wheels

Now I managed to do 14.9 @ 97MPH my best with 7psi and will dyno it soon. Its a 2secs and 13mph advantage

curious

When someone asks "how much hp does your car have". What is your initial instinct to tell them. Fly wheel hp or at the wheel hp?

I tell them I'm up to about 175 HP to the wheels. (I'm halfway there to my goal of 200 WHP by next summer). That's with the Injen CAI and boost turned up to 9psi. That's what the G-Tech tells me....and it told me I made 151 HP bone stock. So those little accelerometers are pretty accurate I guess.

I'm curious why you did your runs at 7 psi, but you daily drive the car at 8-9 psi? And if you dyno'd at 11, why not run the 1/4 with 11? I'm asking 'cause I'm planning a very similar mod path =) I'm also curious what the same config would do with a CAI added on... oh and I asked in another thread and never got an answer: how much does it cost to run a dyno? And are you going to scan your dyno chart for us? (you could fax me and I can scan it if you don't have a scanner).
