Dyno'd my car

dude ive done it all with your fcd...from all the way out to 1/4 turns and still hit it....truth is not many people have experienced it cause not many people push that psi...so not many have the slightest clue.

It isn't that they don't have the slightest clue, it is that most aren't like us and just don't have the need to go over 10-11 psi :).. The FCd doesn't "clamp" the voltage- that would open the car up to a whole bunch of new problems, it just drops if by .500 or so to put a stock car out of the fuel cut range at increased boost. If you plan on going much further- a piggy back or standalone is an absolute requirement. I designed this to work for those looking to push their MSP's a bit, not build a race car- the ECU tuning alone is out the window where you are, so an FCD is the least of what is needed.

absolutely.....now if we can just get members to believe this.

yeah, but every dyno you run on is going to give you a different readin- my friend does 227 on one and 27x on another with his turbo Shadow.. Again, dyno #'s don't really mean jack- unless you are trying to sell something and you need the # to back you up :).. How's your car run at the track?

he did when he bumped the boost up though. his first two were at 130 something....and stock evos dyno at 230 something. lol you may be talkin about what the factory claims to the flywheel.

Never bumped up the boost........don't forget can't tune my boost controller to hold any boost. Ran in 4th gear first run (Stock psi) got 139.5, Ran second run in 3rd (Stock psi) 151.5, Ran in 4th gear for the last (Stock Psi) 149.5:wtf:

well ol' timer how many msp owners you know jumpin on the dyno pushin that much psi.....not many...most are afraid to blow em.........

DS

I hate to burst your bubble, but the actual dyno numbers that people on the Evo forum have been pulling have been anywhere from 235 to 250 at the wheels (all four of them). Let me know when you go to Carboy, and I'll pull the half shaft so I can run on their two wheel dyno. I should be able to pull a consistant 240 to 260 with the front wheels. Even if I were to pull a smaller number than your 235, all I should have to do is put an intake on to pull a better one. Your car was looking decent though, so don't take these posts as a hate crime against MSPs, or your MSP. C-ya!

I guess you are lost but that's ok, just grab a bible and you can be found with JESUS.(wow)

i really don't even think DS's 14.4@105mph is as close of an indicator as ppl think it is. he pulled a 105 while not even running 15psi the whole length. sure traction was still an issue, but i think he can squeeze another 2mph with solid traction and boost control.

DON'T RUN MORE THAN 6.5PSI ON YOUR MAZDASPEED, IT WILL BLOW!!!

yeah my dyno was hilariously low as well, I would suggest a 10% addition to be accurate. I think it's just CarBoy's that is messed up tho, I did dynos in beaumont on a dyno jet and I got about 10 more horsepower there. Can't wait to see the videos.

Yeah, my car was louder than Maurice's MSP dumping exhaust before the muffler. The poor little japanese dyno guy had to put headphones on to not go deaf. I apologize again to everyone for making you all deaf, though.

HA. Yes that was some loud exhaust. The tech dude was suprised on the first run, forgot his earplugs. I thought the MSP that went before me did two runs around 130ish and then one around 140ish. All I know is that these numbers have to be low.

Guess I have to post this again for those that didn't see it the first time.

Also guess I will have to go home tonight and scan in the dyno chart.

What boost controller are you using and what boost level are you trying to hold?

Using the greddy profec B spec II and trying to hold between 9-12 psi. just can't get it to work.
