Dyno results

2001 323 Astina SP20 (P5)
well it was another trip to the dyno this arvo, just to see where i'm at.

base run yielded 95kw at the wheels - so 127.52whp. that's all mods in my sig

next run was with the 2.75" injen cai (previously had a 2.5" injen cai). 95.5kw at the wheels - so 128.19whp

the only performace mod i have done since the previous 126.6 run was the OBX fuel pressure regulator. maybe that's a good thing then even though i'm running god aweful rich. however, i think because i disconnected the stock vacuum line going to the stock regulator and didnt connect the vacuum line to the OBX FPR, that has helped high rpm a/f readings. i am getting the dyno graphs emailed to me shortly (hopefully) so i will check.

on the flip side is the big brake upgrade and the almost certain reduction in wheel hp. so looks like either that's not as bad as i first imagined, or the OBX FPR is doing even more than expected again!

also, there was a small 0.67whp gain going from the 2.5" injen cai to the 2.75" cai. didnt look like the power was lost down low either. tis all good.

for s**** and giggles i tried running with the silencer in the exhaust. peak hp dropped to 93.something kw at the wheels i think, but gained power everywhere from 5500rpm and below. good to know that because 99.9% of the time i drive with that in and it's a daily driving power gainer.

will post pics when i can.

next on the blocks is the fidanza flywheel, clutchmasters clutch and the rr-racing udp. the stupid things were returned to rafi by AusPost and he will be resending them today. will have them next week and will have them installed shortly after (well except for the udp - i have to design a backing plate because the aus one is different to the us one). then it's back to the dyno in hope of braking the 100kw at the wheels mark (134.23whp), then back to the dyno again with the drag setup (ie TE37 wheels and drag radials) in hope to get even more (certainly should get more).

after spending lotsa money on dyno run time it's off to the drag strip for a final attempt of breaking into the 14's with the stock ecu then the pure enjoyment of the microtech LT-8s will be mine!

Good work Andrew. You're a dyno addict like me. When you gonna open that FS up though? Pistons are screaming your name......

Very cool. On a sidenote, Wagner is finishing up an intake mani that seems similar to yours and he was reporting gains just from bolting it up. So build yours and dyno!

great runs man...I bet you would be right on 14.9 with just those TE-37's and drag slicks...11lbs down from 16 will make a very noticable difference, not to mention all the rotational inertia issues with where the new wheels weight actually is closer to the rotational origin...

nope, the cams are still sitting on 0, 0.

will prob leave adjusting them until i get the microtech ecu as the cam adjustments for it will more than likely be a bit different to the stock ecu.

funny you should mention that, i just updated my sig with the new graph - 139.7whp - again, cam gears still on 0-0 :(

I dream of numbers like that. I really need to get my car on the dyno to see where it's at, it definitely feels faster than when I first bought it.
