I want to find a decent 6" monitor with gooseneck and dvd...dont need fm modulator or tv tuner...dvd preferably in dash 1din. thin profile monitor. I have seen prices from $300-over $1000...any ideas or suggestions are appreciated

Why not get a single in dash DVD/screen?
You could even just to an inexpensvie single din flip out screen like the Alpine CVA 1003 and then do an underseat DVD player.

i figured about $200 for the screen. I can get a remote dvd with fm modulator and tv tuner and 6" lcd mount and all for $499. Also i havent seen a alpine for less then $1000. My HU is in the upper slot so unless i can get a Hu mount with screen upper din mount i will have to do a gooseneck.

Just a warning.. be sure to check your local laws to see if the screens are even legal.

Several states are starting to try and outlaw any video screen that can be seen by the driver (obvious reasons)..with the exception of navigational systems. That means those fancy in-dash players would be illegal. I know Texas just did it (yes that's right guys.. it's in effect now I believe)

So yea, check your laws first.

I thought it was only illegal if the screen was on. As long as it's off though you're cool. Is that correct?

In all states:
No screen can display video if it is in view fo the the driver and the car is in motion.

Also in TN if any screen is displaying adult material and cen be seen from outside of the car there is a $50 fine :D

So do you guys know of a good dvd player with screen that folds out, don't need radio on it or anything else I'll use my HU just need the player with attached screen. Would like it to be 7" and touch screen. Know of any relatively cheap ones that are good and reliable?

This guy is absolutely right. My cousin, who lives in Memphis, got a ticket for having one of those Vivid Videos showin in his 1999 Silverado. It was total BS...but funny as hell :D
