Im trying to decide between the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec and the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compa...&width=225/&ratio=40&diameter=18&startIndex=0

But I want to see what everyone thinks. I want a tire I can drive on all summer, and have fun with on on/off ramps, and yet still have fun at an autocross. Would there really be a difference in treadwear between these 2 tires when it comes to miles driven before shot?

when i was at the local racing team's shop(they do time attack)

they said that the Dunlops are the new hot tires on the market that everyone is racing with.

these are what they are using as well. im looking into getting some. he said they are supersticky and that they didnt even need to shave them

i have the kdw tires... and actually was looking into getting the direzzas.. the kdw is a good tire, but from my experience noisy, and doesn't "hook" as well as i thought it would.. i think the direzzas will be my next set

100 tread wear is a big difference. It depends how you drive. You can see about 5-10 or maybe 15k mile difference. From what I've heard and read, if you want a track tire, go with the Dunlop. But if you DD a lot, the BFG's will last you longer.

Bah...go with the Starspecs, enjoy the grip and worry about them breaking your bank later when you have to replace them.

Treadwear ratings have limited usefulness when comparing across different brands...

That being said, I'm sure the Dunlops won't last as long as those KDWs. However, I'm also sure that the Dunlops will be a generally better-performing tire than the KDW as well.

:D

should of put Spirited/Daily Driving or Spirited and daily driving.. Spirited daily driving sounds like I beat on my car every day.
