Dual Setup vs. No BPV

Still miss my MSP...

Hey, I was planning on getting the DSM hardpipes but I wanted to see what you all recommend. I know I want a BOV for sure but I want ot kill the turkey so do you recommend the Dual BPV/BOV setup or will I be ok with running simply the BOV. THanks.

if you dont run the BPV there is a possobility you will have stalling issues. I dont think you can totally get rid of the turkey, I think it just goes from sounding like a gobble to it flapping its wing and sounding like a flutter. Im just running a BOV at full boost though you just hear the BOV but part throttle you will hear a flutter.

I've ran the hardpipes with just BOV, and it doesn't stall, just have to know how to adjust ur BOV, not too hard. But now i have the bypass valve also for the dual set up, works great, and it blows back into the intake, i have NO TURKEY, like i said, its all about how you adjust ur bov, i hope this helps.

alright thanks alot guys... i think i'll play it safe and go with dual'eys

I'd like to see and learn more about this. Could you post info or pics??

thanks

sorry newbie hear can someone explain dual setup and bpv? i understand how a reg bov works and it's relation to the mas. but dunno about dual setup and a bpv? i know on my srt4 u need a bop (block off plate) on the stock recirc valve and then a reg bov on either side of the ic. any help would be appreciated.

the dual setup is essentially 2 bov's. one of them is recirculated, the other is vented. the vented one makes the fabulous noise, but you don't lose all of the air from your system because of the recirculated one, so you don't stall. i'm not sure which goes closer to the tb or anything, nor have i looked into it much cause i don't think it's necessary, but that's the basics i think

hurm... now i'm getting it. any one looks into the bov's that you can adjust how much is vented and how much is recirc? i know gfb makes one as does another comp. thanks for the quick answer.

I run a TURBOSMART dual port and my stock BPV because with the turbosmart only , my car was still stalling so i have add my stock BPV and cure the problem with that... no more turkey :)

where did you guys go to get your BOV welded on, and where is the best placement? I have the ION FMIC and INJEN, and the turkey must die.
Thanks in advance

does anyone make a set of ic pipes for the stock smic and aftermarket fmic with a bov mount? i saw one set that were like 700 with a bov. screw that big time. also curious of the material the stock ic pipes, if it's just reg old rubber piping why can't you just hack out a 1inch section on the cold side of the ic piping and put and universal dsm mount into it with any turbo xs bov. i did just that on my srt4. curious for any opinions. also where is the bpv located? thanks in advance.

there are a couple aftermarket pipe sets for the stock smic, the only aluminum one is $700, the others are powder coated mild steel and are either 200 or 275 i think, depending on which you get, without a bov. aftermarket fmic kits get whatever bov you want. the stock ic pipes are plastic, and many people have switched to aftermarket bov's on it, it just doesn't look pretty and you still get the expansion of the pipes from the heat, so changing to metal is a better option. the stock bpv is located about where the intake pipe comes near the ic->tb pipe, i think there is a small tube though from the ic pipe to the bpv, so the bpv isn't exactly on the ic pipe

You have to weld it as close as possible of the throttle body to eliminate the turkey sound...

thanks for your reply. can u direct to manufacer of the 200-300dollar pipes? sorry for being such a newbie. my goal is find the parts that allow me to properly install a bov on the stock smic, then when the time comes for an aftermarket smic i can keep the same hard pipes and bov setup. any opinions?
