Dual Exhaust

IT IS JUST FOR LOOKS, we got it, mmkay? lol. I think it would look pretty good so long as you stayed with the stock tip. Otherwise it would look gaudy. Maybe ditch the mufflers and go straigh to the tip to free it up a bit. The only way their could be a gain, is if you go bigger headers, and a larger pipe up to the Y-split, then maybe it'd do something, but no more than a larger diameter catback would do, which is little to nothing anyways, so really, whats the point of a catback unless it's on a turbo, and even then it doesn't do that much....

So let me ask you this...if I install my Draxas cat back, I could get a pipe to go from the muffler and wrap around to make a tip on the other side of the car?? IS that about right? Or does it need to be split before the muffler? I'm confused....PS-Super Matty, the pic you posted looks awesome IMO, dual/dual exhaust.....can you PM or email me so I can get more info?

i'll be more than happy to discuss this exhaust with you....only not on this forum. I'm not allowed to mention any products that I sell (while other people are).

If you'd like feel free to see my threads about these items on protegeclub.com they are all made by Postert.

Does anyone sell a triple exhaust? I think it would really add a nicely-balanced aura to the rear end.

Seriously, it doesn't look that bad on the 3 sedan pictured on the first page...what % of drivers actually know it is a 4 cyl. anyway?

thats true. you would impress the vast majority of drivers.... except for ones with any car knowledge.

Who would point and laugh. (hah)

The more, the better, right? Why not just line up a whole string of pipes across the back? You could probably get 10 or 12 tips in there if you did it right! Yeah!

i saw a focus yesterday that had a center exit exhaust and sounded really good..... only problem was he had 3 tips on that center exit instead of just the normal oval.

I think one tip on each side is ok, but dual tips on a dual exhaust on the 3 looks AWESOME.anybody know a shop in Miami that can do this??

And no one ever answered, I ordered the Draxas system...once I install it...how can I convert it to dual..or better yet dual tips AND dual exhaust...I know its gonna have to be with a shop...but can anyone give me an idea of how to accomplish this so I dont sound like an idiot, or get taken advantage of when I try and do this.....Just for the record, this will be only for looks, although when I go FI it may help a little...but for now just doing it for looks....Also, doing dual doesnt really ADD perf., but will it take anything away?????

tgv,
i don't know what the 3's exhaust looks like since i haven't been under my 3 yet, but i would think you could cut the exhaust somewhere put on a y-type splitter then weld the pipe back togther with 2 exits coming off 1 muffler. it probably wouldn't look too nice since there isn't any underbody cut out for dual exhaust but maybe your exhaust shop guy could make it look nice.

Dual Ex.

Any one know of any exhausts for the 3 that look like the rx8. 1 tip on each side. cat back or full.??

havent seen one to date. you can always go full custom and have a exhaust shop fabricate.

I think it would look fekkin' AWESOME. The 3's ass just begs for dual pipes ...

But it would have to be properly done, which is hard to do :(

My problem is that it's completely useless. Why not just bolt an exhaust tip to the bottom of the bumper?

The Point

My point is this: When looking straight on from behind, the 5door looks kinda odd With the narrow hatch portion and then the wide lower body. ANY other angle it looks awesome even viewing slight off center you can see the way it tapers down from the top down. But straight from behind it just looks, well like Jennifer Lopez. (spank)

But seriously that is the 1 thing I dont care for about mine even after 16000 miles in 8 months. And the Pipes on each side might distract from that.

Oh and the Mazda service in houston so far SUCKS.
