Nothing wrong with that...the MSP is my 3rd car, but my 1st 5spd. I didn't know how to drive stick when I went for a test drive, so the dealer took me for a ride. All I did prior to driving the car myself was 2 separate 2 hour practice sessions on my friend's Civic EX. Once I got the car, I let my dad drive it for about 30 minutes to show me & then I did it for 30 minutes with him in the car. Immediately after that, I drove to a car show on my own. I don't think your comment is justified...the MSP is also a very easy car to learn on. Being good at it is another story however.

was at my barber shop today getting my hair cut, reading a wrap up review of an evo in some car mag. they said the clutch and throwout bearing went at 19,850 miles and cost $1250 to get fixed. they said it was not under warranty. they made it sound like they drove the car hard, but did not abuse it. that is an expensive repair for not abusing the clutch with only 20K.

when i got the car i havent had driven a stick in 2 years and i think i abused it a lil bit. i downshifter 5-2 instead of 5-4 on the freeway the second day i got it, i was goin about 60-65.

MSP was my first stick car. I taught myself on a few VW's earlier on including a diesel golf on the Autobahn in Germany.

The Msp would have been nice to take out on that road.

and its only a 20k car its not like ur learning on a ferrari.

the clutch on this car is a little rough, and the clutch is pretty heavy, but I taught my girlfriend to drive a stick in my car Then she drove MY stick in my car..... OK that was bad....[/terrible joke]

that's funny I learned to drive stick by playing Grand tourismo 1,2 and 3. I grind the gears the first times but it was okay cuz it was a civic.

yeah, automatics are mind boggling. I mean, wtf is going down there? You gots the fluid sloshing around and that other thing that does that thing...

Manuals are just so simple, so effective, so pure, so much cheaper to replace.

To learn the clutch, take your car to a parking lot and do NOT use the accelerator (only the clutch)...start in first and very gradually let out the clutch. If it starts rollin', you're on the right path.

Once it gets movin', do the same into second and so on.

Seriously.

lol i have never owned an automatic. i learned how to drive on an automatic f(drivers training) and the whole time i had my permit. and right when i got my licence i bough a 1988 mx6... no one would teach me how to drive it so i just tought myself. then it was vw corrado, bmw 318ti,bmw 325i, msp1, now msp2 all stick. I cant drive automatics lol. i keep sticking my foot on the non exhistant clutch

Come to think of it, I really learned how to drive stick by having a motorcycle at 14y.o. It really was a natural progression.
