Hmm

Just got off the Phone with Jerry from TS mazda he is the service adjustor he said it is not covered by mazda powertrain, but may be covered by MEPP because that goes back to the B to B phase. reading that, it covers everthing, stating specifically drive shaft failure due to the failure of an internallly lubricated part......... except for items in section E .... were they actually specifically mention driveshaft failure due due improper maintenence of the boot .

so, they won't cover it now, cuz it aint broke, and if I drive it til it breaks, its gonna be because I didnt maintain the boot

I need to find a boot kit, and instructions, or a cheep mechinx

explain to me how one is supposed to maintain the boot? what are the mainanence requirements and how often should they be performed?

HAHAHAHA right?

The manual says it is to be armouralled with each oil change :)

proly somewhere it says inspect and replace if necessary

An issue you will have is that there are NO boot kits available. I reached out to a handful of companies that rebuild shafts, and after multiple attempts to get a boot that would fit, nothing worked. In frustration, I used 2 part panel bond to repair the tear in the boot, and it is still holding. As with many other parts for this car, the price for axles will make you throw up in your mouth, and that is what Mazda will tell you to replace.

HAHA the parts dude has the inner driverside boot for $66

he then checked, and said, "wow, not as bad as I thought, $360 for the shaft"

the local tranny shop says the often will use brakekleen to prep and black silicone to repair small holes, taers are different, no one does the universal overboot anymore, cuz they suck

Panel bond, huh?

well I am in car fix mode right now, workin the boot while the car cools enough to put Hank's cpe TIP on. which, unless I do the topmount IC, will be the last mod

exhaust will stay stock forever, but I learned along time ago, never throttle the suction side of a pump, any pump

still cant find a hole. got it pretty clean, bout to do a final insp
