Dragonbabe, I feel ya....Someone stole stereo (Z919)

I was out in Addison last night at Club Life, and I am leaving trying to dissarm my alarm, and it wouldn't....Hmmm. I get closer, and notice that I can see inside my driver's side window, and glass on the ground.:mad: :wtf: I look inside, and see my center dash ripped off and my stereo gone. :wtf: :wtf: :'( The good news is that nothing else was taken, not even my Passport8500 that was in plain sight. I had everything else locked up. I can tell they tried to get in the trunk because my trunk release lever was bent, but they couldn't because I had it locked from the inside. This had to be someone who knew about alarms because my harness to my alarm was simply unplugged! For that matter, my harness to my radio, nothing cut, just unplugged. Thank you for being so phuckin considerate damn thieving bastards!(pissed) (pissed) It was a damn cold 30 miles back to home with no window.

Man it seems like just when things quiet down after the last drama something comes up to add new drama(ie my moms car and GF's car) or(your car) In any case I hate to hear that. Hope insurance treats you well and they didn't mess things up too bad.

Thats why i hate the z919, no detachable face. and it looks flashy. I hate leavin my car places for a long time because it makes it a nice target. i also hate how you cant ffwd through mp3's.

my friend in san diego had his stereo stolen too, window smashed. They jsut ripped the radio out and even took the time to use a hacksaw and saw the steering wheel into little bits. There was no reason to do this because my friend had no club. dick.

the sad thing is that after the car was completely fixed it happened again! they broke in the exact same way and stole the stereo again.

it's stories like these that makes me so paranoid about my car. Sunday night i was at a birthday party and i must have gone out to check my car at least 3 times. the girls there musta thought i was insane =P

Im saying when you have an mp3 disc in, you cant skip through the song, you can only skip track to track. you cant skip through to a certain part of a track. Where as other mp3 players allow you to.

I think I'm going to put a little sticker on mine that says:

"There is no stereo behind this innocent looking black plate. "

Or maybe a photo sticker that looks just like the OEM headunit from a 1994 Saturn SL.

Don't these stereos have codes? Aren't they useless without them? I would think theives smart enough to know there's a stereo behind the blank face would also know it won't work once they disconnect it.

how do you lock the trunk from inside the car?
i don't see a key hole to lock anything from the inside?.

You have to lock the seats, and disable the trunk release lever from inside the trunk. There are 2 little latches (one on the back of each fold-down seat) that you either slide up or down to disable the fold-down seats. There is a yellow little tab that you flip up on the trunk latch itself to disable the release lever.
