I recently installed a Cobb downpipe and am loving it so far. A bit pricey but great product and I think its worth it. Lots of power now.

If I had the money I would definitely get the Cobb DP. But for now I'll be using the Corksport test pipe and down the road get a one peice DP with a high flow cat.

I too have been thinking about getting the Cobb Dp. I have a few questions though. Has anyone had any problems with a smoking turbo using their dp and will I need fuel pump internals with this mod. I have a SRI and inlet pipe with the AP. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I plan on using the stock CBE if that helps.

If you want to go catless consider the TurboXS dp/rp combo. I'm very happy with it.

As to suggestions, issues, plusses and minuses regarding any downpipe, there are no simple answers. Please do a bit of searching, and then come back with questions, as this subject is pretty complicated, involves a lot of sub issues and we could try to write pages of stuff guessing what a potential dp modder might want to know.

The search engine here sucks. Try using Google and begin your search with the word "mazdas247" without the quotes and then add whatever you are wanting to know including the word "downpipe". That will direct your back to this forum. There are literally hundreds of threads here about this and a lot of very smart talented people have expressed sometimes conflicting opinions on the subject.

A downpipe is a serious mod that will produce serious power gains and brings with it a lot of plusses and minuses. Please take a bit of time to run the search, read up and we'll do our best to answer any remaining questions.

For me this was a very good mod. Others might make a different decision based on different factors.

cpe or cobb high flow catted downpipe ( in the long run) is the only way to properly go....

i personally think the cpe one is a little louder then the cobb one but they do the same thing just a brand thing....i got the cpe one over the cobb but im sure i woulda been happy with the cobb one too

corksport/turboxs/atp all suck and ur gonna run into problems somewere down the line

I don't think it's fair to say that all of those companies suck. You could always have a cat welded into any of those companies test pipes and you've basically accomplished the same thing, and for less money i might add.

I agree. My CS has given no problems, either hooked to the second cat or with a test pipe in. Other than the minor challenges posed at install, common to all DPs, it sounds great, added alot of power and smoothness, cleaned up underhood access and, was inexpensive, what else can you ask for? Added PtP's PCV "fix" at around the same time and no smoke, no headaches.

welll your rite about cheeper....and corksport dp does have the nicest sound...but when it comes to install and beneficial.....the cpe and cobb throw no CELL...i like easy installs and no custom fab thats why i went with cpe

yea i didnt mean to say they sucked bro my bad they all give u round the same hp gain just some have less problems then the others

Our Downpipe doesn't throw a CEL either. I'm not really in the mood to throw down with people who haven't run our products and want to criticize them.

By the way, if you want a high flow cat, we offer one in our racepipe, giving you a combination similar to the long tube downpipes from cp-e or COBB.

Have a nice evening,

corksport has quality stuff guys! i have there DP on my p5 and my brother has there power series on his protege and there both really nice pieces
i didnt even want to put the DP on the turbo cuz it was so pretty lol

and they even included a non fouler! i already had one but man, thats some good s*** right there
i was suprised when i saw that, and corksport will def be getting more of my money

im running the Corksport downpipe and have not had any CEL's and all has been running fine. I'm happy with it. I also have the CS catback and want to get there race pipe

i have the cs catback and its been leaking like crazy i hit them up with pictures and videos they said there evaluating it...and thats after gasket paper and a new flange

I'm running the Corksport CBE with absolutely no issues. Great build quality and the best sounding CBE out there IMHO. If I were going to back to a catless DP/RP I would go with Corksport. Good quality and good with customer service, which means a lot to me personally. Not sure how some people can evaluate a product without having any experience using it... (confused)
