Hey whats up guys!?
I was goign to make a full 3" DP but the problem is that the flange from the turbo housing extention (not sure what its called yet) is only a 2" diameter piece, and If i make anything larger than a 2.25" on the neck, then you will not be able to install the nuts on the bolts. Also, the weld will get in the way and not allow the nut to mount flush on the flange.
The system conisists of the elbow which bolts up to the cat assembly using a pivoting setup. It has 2 spring bolts and a donut. I was goign to make it form the pivoting section back but then I decided to make it from the turbo extention. I will try to make the elbow in a 2.5" setup and have the begining of it reduced down to a 2.25" so it can fit in onto the flange up on the turbo side.
Form there back I will use a full 2.5" setup that will bolt up to your stock catback system. I will also be using a flex section instead of the donut and spring bolt setup that wears out after ti me.
I will be using a 3" highflow cat. Now you may ask why a 3" highflow? Well the reason behind that is so I dont have to make another partnumber and so I can keep my inventory down. The 3" cat WILL bolt up to the 2.5" piping with no problem at all. It will also supply more than enough volume then you will ever need.
I know some of you guys really want a 3" system but it's not practicle. Just to let you know, a 2.5" system will support up to 450hp. Just go ask all of those eclipse guys with the 2.5" systems and also read corky bells maximum boost. It has a good chart of HP vs. Piping.
Oh, I will also be putting an extra o2 sensor bung in it for those who will want to tune there e-manage, apexi- AFC with a wideband o2 sensor.
As per 03 speed, this set-up is for you guys Im all ears so let me hear what you guys want with your setup.
Happy boosting!
