Okay this is embarasing but I got sick a couple nights ago and tried to throw up out the front passenger window and didn't quite make it all out. So puke got on the door panel and inside where the window weather strips are. I had a detailer take off the door panel and clean in there but he wasn't able to get into the area where the window rolls down. Is that a spot I can have a mechanic take apart to make sure there isn't residual puke hanging out there? The detailers theory is nothing should have traveled down because its supposed to be a tight seal. But the first day when opening the window there would be streaks so I assume something is down there. Anyways after he was done I smell a faint smell on one part of the weather strip. I've been spraying with febreze and airing it out and then left my car overnight with vinegar. I hope the smell is gone but if not could I have that part opened up and potentially replace the weather strip?

I had the exact same situation in my Infiniti a few years back in college. A chick decided to blow chunks on the highway and most of it got block back (in her face as well). I cleaned the window seal as best as I could. I didn't bother opening the panel to clean the innards, but the window was never the same. First few weeks it would have streaks, then it would always wind slower than the rest of the windows.

Sorry can't help you out. Let us know if you find a solution to the problem.

But is there still a smell? Mine doesn't streak anymore and goes up and down the same as the other windows

This is the reason why I can't buy used!

Lol! RebeccaR7, yes, if you can find a willing mechanic to do it, removing the door panel should be an easy task. Just make sure you find a mechanic that doesn't puke when he/she smells it, too! (puke)
