Door moldings

Does anyone know how the door moldings on a MS3 are attached? If they are just attached with double sided tape and they are a heat gun away from coming off, I'm gonna do it. I saw another member that stated they "shaved" the moldings off and it looked good! Any help would be appreciated. If this is a repeat thread MY BAD! Thanks!!

I believ that would be "comic sans"

And for the op...they are tig welded on

And for the op again....just a simple adhesive. Hair dryer and floss (if you're trying to take it off), then goo-gone

Great question. Did a search, found nothing on the topic. Someone out there must know.

I must be tired or something. I read that and though "wait a minute, NOTHING? I've SEEN discussions about this..."
And then I read the very next post. Ugh, maybe I should go to bed early, lol

Leave it parked in the sun, and then pull them off. It's just double sided tape. It makes the car look so much better with them off. They are really not protecting anything anyways.

Heat them up with a hairdryer, left the edge with a plastic spatula from your kitchen and peel them off. Little solvent to remove any excess and you'll be fine. CWP like mine will leave a faint yellow line but it fades away 100% in less than a few days.

its held on with dbl sided tape. You can rip them off in two seconds and like someone else mentioned in this thread use goo gone to take the adhesive off.

UPDATE: I attempted to remove the side moldings, ended up using a plasma cutter to get them off, so just a little body work and paint and I'm done!!! Not too bad at all.......seriously though, thanks for advice, sarcasm, etc...was an easy job and looks a lot better IMO.

Plasma cutter? Confucius say "do not use cannon to kill butterfly"....you shoulda just used the sawzall

This is one of those "free" mods that ppl do, and it looks good, but I'm just not willing to do it. Part of me still thinks there is a chance that someone will open their door next to me and hit the gaurd instead of bare door...even though someone put a small dent in my door anyway by doing just that

As bad as my car looks on the outside, at least (knock on wood) its still mechanically sound

I agree with leaving them on, but my driver's door molding has been arguing with the rear door molding's leading edge. There was a scuffle and now they both have damage.

I guess I'm going to have to go to Harbor Freight to get a plasma cutter...

I just went to a junkyard and bought 4 doors off a wrecked speed that had already taken them off. EZ PZ

I took mine off because I already got a scratch from a damn shopping cart. Stupid things don't help at all.

I was dinged 6 freakin times before i took mine off. I match, 3 times each side. Took them off, looks way better!!
