just purchased a 2004 Mazda 3 2.3 with manual transmission.
Everything was in working order when I purchased. I did a few maintenance things on the car and now door ajar light stays on constantly and also the power door locks don't work. The radio is also making a chirping noise from time to time but only if it's turned on.
The maintenance I did went in this order: Unhook battery. Remove, clean, and reinstall throttle body. Replaced cabin air filter. I also gently sprayed the engine bay down with a garden hose and some degreaser because it was filthy.
After everything was back together I proceeded to connect the battery and like a dummy I crossed the positive and negative terminals with my ratchet for a split second causing a big arc. Everything else on the car works normal except the door ajar light and door locks. Oh and the chirping radio.
What I've tried so far is I pulled the passenger side fuse panel back out and disconnected and reconnected all the connections several times. I also checked the room and lock fuses on both fuse panels. I have lubed all the door and trunk hinge assembly's several times and opened and closed all the doors. I also tried leaving the battery disconnected overnight.
What's my next step? Thanks.
