I handwashed the 5 yesterday because it was nice and sunny (and in the upper 40's).

I noticed that I'd lost a lug nut on the passenger rear wheel, so today I stopped by a local Mazda dealer and got ***** for a single lug nut.

Try $11.53 for a single nut!

I had told him that I wanted 2 (to have a spare), but for that price, I told him he could keep the other one.

I would have orderd from onlinemazdaparts, but this was somthing that I needed right away.

In 24 years of driving, this is the first time I've ever lost a lug nut.

Yea that's what they told me I had to pay. I broke a lug. But at that price I looked for the first mazda I could find and got one for free.

Sorry, I guess that must have been you!(glare)

If you drove from Austin to DFW for a lug nut, it would have been cheaper to buy it there!

Better than losing the $300+ key ;)

Been there, done that. My wife lost her key the month after I bought the car.

It was like $180 from onlinemazdaparts and the local dealer charged me $100 to program it.

door key or wheel lock key

if it's the wheel lock key, dealerships have a master set from McGard for all the OEM wheel locks.

You can also contact McGard directly and order a new key, they're pretty cheap.

When a dealer (well, those in higher crime areas) gets in a new Mazda and puts wheel locks on it, where do you think they throw the stock nuts?

We have about 5000 here sitting in buckets. Slightly used. Less than 10 miles on them.

Sometimes I charge a little, sometimes not at all. You'd be suprised how many people don't want used though, and pay for new.

I wasn't even offered a used nut (gee, that just doesn't sound right).

Mine came individually wrapped, with a big Mazda part sticker on it.

I returned the Hiley part and got a refund.

Normally, that's how I am... but lug nuts?! They're basically defect-proof (boom06)
