Don Miller Mazda - Funny Thing Happened

So last night I took my MP3 to Don Miller Mazda in Madison, WI for an oil change. I dropped it off and went outside to browse the lot. I looked at the Mazda6s and the 2003 Proteges (see below about this). Then we went across the street to look at toyotas (The Girlfriend is looking at the RAV4). Then we went pack to Mazda and sat in the waiting room.

The service guy came up to me and ask if I go on the internet about the protege.

I said "Yes"

he said, "We heard that some guy named Tim was talking bad about Don Miller Mazda" and they wanted to know if it was me and if so why I was.

I said "No, I don't think it was me."

So... On my way home I was thinking about it and the only thing I could think of is the time I said I was disappointed when the sales guy told me the MP3 had Cruise control, and it didn't.
The other thing that crossed my mind is when the service guy asked me if I put the sway bars on there.
Don't they know that they sold the MP3 and it came with all of that stuff already on it?

At any rate....I still took my car there. If I was truly pissed at them I wouldn't take my car there.

I also noticed that Don Miller has a MAZDASPEED floor display ready for the MAZDASPEED but they have a 2003 Protege ES on it. The ES is painted Lazer mica blue (same as MP3) and has simular equipment. You also can get the 2003 P5 in the same blue. This means the MP3s won't stand out as much anymore. I guess you yellow MP3 guys have lived with this already since the P% came in yellow.

Just a tad dissappointed.

Anyway, I guess the dealers do read this site. So Don Miller Mazda... If you read this, I am not saying bad things. But I will soon be making an appointment to get the bushings fixed in the rear sway bar because it is starting to clunk and squeak again.

Turn a ES yellow, then we'll talk about dissappointment. :D

Hey trobbins! Good to see you're still browsing these boards. Hey, you should check out the Central US->Wisconsin forum. There are a few of us in the Madison/Platville area who are trying to organize a meet. Might be fun.

Anyhow, that is kind of weird about Don Miller. Its weird that a dealer rep would come up and say the equivalent of "We heard you might be talking s*** about us". Not something I'd expect :D. I agree though, I was kind of surprised that I knew more about this car than they did when I bought it. I guess the MP3 was a bit different though. It was hardly advertised. So far I've been quite impressed with their service. My only gripe is that my swaybar clunk is still there with the new bushings, although maybe not as bad.

I was driving past there yesterday and had to do a double take because they had some midnight bluish proteges that were all dressed up on a truck. I couldn't tell if they were proteges like you described, or Mazda 6s. I'd like to see one of those up close. Well, thats all I have to say!
