The one you're looking for is called a 323 GTX. Google it of search the forums for more info.

Chances are, they will be listed as such. They are pretty rare cars, and anyone who doesn't list it as a GTX if it is is a moron.

WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR $500??????
HOW ABOUT AN UGLY CAR THAT RUNS GREAT?????
I ADMIT IT AIN'T PRETTY, BUT IT RUNS VERY GOOD.
RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION FOR SURE!!!!

Thats there ad, and i have been doing research on it, however just by looking at the car from an outside picture i cant tell if it is a 323 gtx. And i dont think they kno either. Should i ask them if it is awd? if it is awd would it have turbo too?

Well, if they don't know if it's turbo or not I can imagine the car's in pretty bad shape by now.

1992-1993 - 1.8 L (1840 cc) BPD, FI, 16-valve DOHC, turbo, 210 hp (156 kW)/173 ftlbf (235 Nm). Powered the Familia GT-R

Most likley the car doesnt have that but yeah if anyons is really familiar with these cars shoot me a pm i have to go look at it in a few hours.

I bought one for my future wife when whe was finishing up college - a 1988 for $500 no less (sold it for $500 two years later) It ran well, but every gasket in the motor had a leak - I never actually did an "oil change" - I just kept adding it. The brakes are a PITA and can be expensive to replace.

The car you're looking at is a regular 323 (BG). The BG GTX/GTR never made it to the US. There's the BF GTX though (previous generation, 88-89 year models), with a 1.6L turbo engine producing a whopping 132hp.

^^^^

Correct. This is the regular FWD non-turbo 323. Still not a bad price if it is in good working condition. Pretty decent aftermarket and the motors were hard to mess up.

Unlike most mazda motors. *Looks at Z5 and FS in anger*

FS wasn't that bad! Sure, the B motors were bullet proof, but the FS was okay. The Z5 was just terrible. That's what happens when Mazda focuses on fuel economy when creating an engine.

Sorry but NO TURBO INSIDE ....

If you Buy it. Make an easy turbo car. Get a single over head 1.8 BP motor. its 8.25 to 1 ratio. Than get a 16 valve dual over head cam head slap on the bottom end. now you have 8.48 to 1 ratio. Now in a make believe if the engine and head were new you can boost 20psi......

Thats how I made my 1991 ford escort gt turbo project car do 11 second 1/4 mile times.

My NA project I decked the head had beefy cams and ran 13.8 1/4 times on stock ecu..

Both were stock ECU to be excat...

WHAT?!

OK, first off, the 1.8L SOHC motor is the B8. Found in the '90-'94 Protege(non-LX). The BP is the DOHC version.
B8 = 8.9:1 compression
BP = 9.0:1 compression

NO turbo in there. The 90-94 mazda 323 only came turbo overseas NOT in the U.S. as previously stated.

Your best bet would probably be to buy it and then put the DOHC BP in it..(9:1 compression) then slap a t3/t4 on it and yur good to go.

The non-turbo 323 ('90+) engine had around 82 hp! I owned a '91 version (peep)

Actually the new 2.3 is doing some amazing things so far. There are alot of people saying this thing can handle some punishment. If im not mistaken HiBoosts 2.3 MZ3 is running on stock internals and they are floating in the 500 WHP range. So yeah i would say with the right management so far 30 PSI does not sound all that crazy. Unless you are talking about 30 PSI on like a T67 or something. But there are not too many people that make a stock motor that can handle that much boost from that turbo.
Thats my 2 cents.

So if you had a ms6 youd feel comfortable with it boosting that daily?
I sure as hell wouldn't.
