Does anyone store their mazdaspeed 3 for the winter?

up here in Vancouver Canada we hardly get any snow, so lucky to be driving basically all year long without any fear, all there is is rain
they dont call it best place on earth for no reason (spin)

you'd have to have another car to drive if you could store your MS3, to have an extra car you gots to be ballin!

I dont store my MS6, the AWD is great for winter and it gets really crappy here in Alberta. BUT we don't use salt on our roads just sand so corrosion is not my biggest concern, its morons that dont know how to drive in the winter.

I ******* hate salt, I wish they wouldn't use it. it really sucks when you have a black car.

its better than using sand which a lot of places, salt goes away when summer comes along, sand doesnt.

What is the "winter storage" you guys speak of??? Hehe, sorry....just a lame CA joke since the coldest we see is about 60 degrees.

Anyway...I would say the most important is fuel stabilizer and a trickle charger. A trickle charger is a MUST on my other cars when they sit...sometimes weeks at a time. Longer now that it's starting to rain. Rain + RWD is a no no for me. :D

PS - Any of you worry about running a CAI in the rain? You guys using a filter condom or just leaving it as is? I don't plan on driving through any puddles, and the filter "seems" pretty isolated in the fender.....but you just never know??

Cardboard under the tires helps prevent flat-spotting.

Three of my vehicles hibernate for about five to six months. I don't do anything special, really, other than disconnect the batteries.

I have a '93 Probe GT to be my winter beater. Way too much salt on the roads here during the winter and the potholes from hell.

I am planning on keeping mine off the road only when the roads are bad. I have a P.O.S. old GMC truck that is already rusty. Thats what I will drive when the roads are bad.

i plan on driving my ms3 all winter..my other cars will "hibernate"

i will be storing mine because this is what happened last winter

im sure it had nothing to do with the stock tires you had on it. put some snows or all seasons....this baby is saaaweeeeet. i live in MA so the winters can get decent with the snow from the west and the snow up the coast...havent had a problem yet. as said before...25k isnt anything to bark about for a car esp. since it wont be worth but 5k by the time your probably dont with it. if i were you i woulda sold my beater for a few grand and instead of buying a mazda i would have bought something more.....winter worthy if you knew you werent going to drive it in the winter. esp since its half a year of winter where you are. but thats just me. each one to his own. as they say..."whats one mans trash is another mans treasure." 1. im not sure who "they" are so dont ask. 2. that statement doesnt entirely make sense in this sceneario. and 3. this by all means isnt a trash car to me, but it also isnt a gt-40 either.

store it the way they said it otherwise. again...i say enjoy your car. it was designed to be driven, not to be sittin'. trademark phrase.

I'm SO glad I moved out of upstate NY. I used to live in Buffalo, where at least people knew how to drive in the snow. In Albany, the conditions are similar, but douchebags abound and think they are immune to the ice for some reason. And yes, salt sucks. a lot.

But it's currently 60F here in Baton Rouge, with some rain. It will be sunny later. and probably on the holidays too. AND my turbo gets to eat cool air all winter without any salt or snow, so November through March is like turbocharged Valhalla, esp. with the Nano intake and short shifter I will get for Xmas. Startin to love the southern life man...

hey abilor, where in buffalo were you from? im originally from there as well, tonawanda. im in michigan for school now and i know what you mean! they have no idea how to drive in it... haha

were used to plowing through going normal speeds like its nothing haha

my car is officially off the road, had er all cleaned up in and out, she's parked in the underground with a car cover on waiting for the next summer, how fortunate am I to talk my dad into insuring his Benz ML320 for the winter and having it pretty much to myself?!?! (upyours) (upyours)
