Does anyone else have this problem?

My clutch I think has been making this whinning sound. Then last night on my way back from Georgia. The car was in fifth gear, and it kept popping back into neutral, it did it about 7 times in 2 minutes, anyone else havein this problem or knows what it is?:wtf:

Sounds like the dreaded shifter fork problem. Possible causes: Harsh shifting (slamming into gear), resting your hand on the shifter while driving, or yet another lame Mazda tranny. Good luck.

How much does it ussually cost to fix the shift forks? I kinda suspected that.

Shift forks hmmm I dunno, try checking out www.taboospeedshop.com he makes UNBREAKABLE shift forks for DSMs maybe he can make you one?

That guy says he is to buisy, so I think I will go to a machine shop and see if they can make us some billet shift forks, virtually unbreakable. Maybe if we did a group buy they will give us a discount, this may eliminate the tranny problems on our cars.
