Does any one actually lowered the MSP already?

Several MP3 owners have installed the Ground-Control coil-over setup. We have this on our MP3-T and love it. Hope this helps.

Please don't make statements like this. I know there are at least a few here who feel that there is no need to lower the MSP (me included). If you would like to lower your car (MSP or whatever), just ask, and people will give info....don't talk for everyone without consulting them first .

Anyway, i think some people who want to lower, go with spool springs. I think it works well with the stock tokico shocks.

Do you have any 'clunk' noises on your car when you go over uneven pavement? Does you rear shock tower sweek and cry out like a puppy when it's cold?

Yes, it does have sound on bumpy roads when it's real cold like yesterday and today at -20^C. I usually go around Markham and Richmond Hill.

just remember you are lower compared to proteges and protege5s, and even lower than the mp3 (i think) so technically you are "lowered"

I'm 1 minute from Markham and about 15 mintues from Richmond Hill. I think i've seen your car...Do you drive in the mornings on Steeles and Victoria Pk area? Are you still on RacingHart's or Winter's? If you're the one with the grey licence plate cover, i've seen your car before. Anyway, Maybe we can get together sometime for a meet and cruise. Who gives a s*** if he makes a general statement. People make it sound as if their MSP is really lowered. It's clearly not that low when compared to a real drop (more than 1 inch). Don't get your panties in a bunch.

but what if they're the nice white silky ones? i hear it can turn into a real issue if you get those in a bunch.

and NO! i have not heard alot of people talking about wanting to lower their cars. nor do i really think my car needs to be lowered. first comes the engine mods. then you can play with the already tuned suspension......... if you really feel its necessary for some reason

Well if any of ya'll do lower your car, here is another option that provides a 2 inch drop at an economical price. These things greatly improve handling, roll ect and are not harsh like the eibach's or H&R's and dont make funky clanking noises like the ground controls....check it out

why would you ever want to lower the MSP? it is already "lowered" compared to the MP3. why would you want to screw up such a good suspension??? it doesn't make sense to me.

I see his point. To me also, the MSP isn't lowered that much at all. Of course it's lower than an MP3, but the MP3 is barely lowered. I don't even consider the MP3 a lowered car. It just has higher rated, stiffer springs than stock to me.

To each, his own. If he wants HIS car lowered, then thats him. I don't think it'll hurt to lower it some more as long as he doesn't down grade on the springs.

It may not make sense to some ppl because they don't feel that it needs to be lowered. It may be low enough for them. Matter of preference.

A 1 inch drop would do wonders for looks, that's my opinion. And if you do the right thing and buy a real coilover setup, you can dial it in. So you can have the look and get better performance.

Damn! There just doesn't seem to be many MAZDASPEED owners that want to 'just' leave their car alone - as is!! I'm not talking about Boost Gauges, and such - but major s***!! It cracks me up. I know cars like this lend themselves to 'mods' - like MP5s, Civics, etc... But isn't that why Mazda created the MAZDASPEED to begin with?! To solve those issues straight away, to satisfy the majority of the sports sedan enthusiasts?

I guess some people want to personalize their cars even further.
And to have a good 'start off' point in where mods are.
At least, with the turbo and such there isn't much to mod from there... it's other things people are interested i guess....
Unless, there's someone out there that is going to check out the entire turbo, that's another story.

Personally, the reason I'm buying the car is its a complete package for the beginning, and I'm sure the suspension/engine is a more competent package then I am as a driver.
