Kinda like wearing a bike helmet, always wear it. People who don't are just ignorant. The main excuse I always hear from people not wearing seatbelts is "I am a safe driver."

WTF,,, You should wear seatbelts regardless if you are a safe driver or not. It is the other CRAZY drivers on the road I am worried about.

As a kid I never would, ever.

In a conversion van one day, two of us in the back. Mom slammed brakes, friend does an "egg-roll" and hits his head on the seat sliders in the row in front of him. Bled so bad I had to take off my shirt wrap his head.

Ever since I've been so anal as to find myself latently buckling up just to move my car from the mailbox into the driveway

I always do, it takes about 1 second to do and can save your life, you are a dumbass if you don't buckle up.

I always wear mine and make sure to remind my passengers to do it as well, most of them wear it but there are some that just won't, I did my part by reminding them and I'm not going to force them to, they're old enough to make their own decisions.

when I started driving the cars only had lap belts and the sholder harnesses were optional.....I learned to wear my lap belt religiously....

then they attached the shoulder harness and they were NOT passive...and real restrictive and uncomfortable....I stopped wearing mine when we got a car that was like that.....then as time went by the systems became passive...but I still didn't wear them...

then one night I was in my friends VW rabbit....in it the damn bell never went off until your belt was on....so they were on....we hit a patch of ice on the way home and sent his car spinning down the highway at 70 mph...when it grabbed it was sideways...and we went rolling down the highway....when the car stopped there wasn't a single body panel that wasn't torn to crap....and no windows left in the car....but WE were both safe and sound....not a scratch....the police officer that came to our rescue made the comment that in his opinion we were both lucky to be alive...and most likely the only reason we were was because we had our belts on.....

here is a picture of my VW AFTER my second accident in which I would be most likely DEAD had I not had my belt on.....yes it BURNT after I got out.....but its surprising I got out of this one without a scratch or a bump as well.

SO....as you might have guessed.....now....I never move an inch without one....

It's the others drivers that scare me. I wear a belt all the time, except when I'm moving my car down a street or something minor like that.

I to make all who ride in my car wear there seatbelt. Its just being smart. Plus I've been in acouple of accidents and 1 time the seatbelt saved my life.

Same in Maine. Everyone has to where a seatbelt its the law!!! In NH kids under 12 wear seatbelts. I think that law is stupid.

I always wear my seat belt. If I'm in a moving car without one on, it just feels awkward.

click it or ticket is only for front seat and people under 17 in the back seat...
