Do you wait 30 second before shutting the car to let the turbo cool down?

i always let it idle a bit... usually about 30sec to a minute... also before i take off in it. i idle all the way through the neighborhood (3 minutes) and then maybe idle for a bit while we get unbuckled, etc.

i've kind of made a habit of it now...

Meh that turbo is hot as hell. Just talking out of my ass but it doesn't seem like a "hot" day would make too big of a difference. Its under the hood next to the engine.

I'm the paranoid type so yea, I've always idled her down, even if my driving wasn't spirited. Even then, I still hear my fan come on quite often afterward...

I'm the same way. I got a TT for roughly $30 so figured why not for the piece of mind. It's really handy sometimes, because I don't have stuff to gather before getting out I just hop out. Plus, it gives me time to get the little one out before he wakes up from the car shutting off.

I don't bother if I know I didn't get on it all that much but when I know I ran her hard I'll let her cool from anywhere between 1-3 minutes

My built in TT is get out of the car, open my manual garage door, move the bike and drive the car in. Its ~ 30-45 sec.

Damn, how much does that TT cost?? I'd like to have one but neither SU or PG got it... tried ebay too but no luck... :(

Yeah, I let the car sit for a second or two. Whatever the time it is for me to gather my backpack, iPod, and whatever else I have stashed in the car. I definitely let the car warm up before getting on her though.

After I pull to a stop in the garage, I'll let her run while I switch the A/C and recirc off, grab my wallet and cell, then count to 10. That usually doesn't stop the fan from coming on after I switch off the engine, but I figure I'm in Phoenix. It's a rare day in summer where temps dip under 100F!

Moultese, love your sig!

IMO...
After the "staightener", get the "fluffer" to prep the air before heading to the "blower". Guaranteed to put a smile on your face. (yippy)
