Do you feel scared over bumps???

does your MSP seem to totally loose composure going over bumps? especially mid-corner. it seems like the suspension is too stiff.

mines' does, and it annoys the hell out of me. my wife's Protege ES handles midcorner bumps better than my MSP it seems...

i've noticed that my car is pulling quite badly to the left and perhaps the alignment problem and it's need for new tires is causing it? or are they all set up this way?

great on a smooth track; trying in the real world.

yeah, i feel it too sometimes. you are probably right about the suspension being a bit stiff. but when it's a nice smooth corner, i forget about that downsides. :)

I never saw that as a problem on the stock MSP suspension... it's already pretty soft for what it is

how many kilometers in your car? the shocks maybe blown

pretty soft???

you is loco mang! the ride is rock hard. especially when you live in pothole city...

the car has 80K kms on it, so about 60k miles...

pothole city? trust me Toronto has way better roads than you think compared to other large cities

are you talking about when your goign around a turn and you hit a bump it feels like it skips? thats normal on these cars

its because when ur going over the bump really the shock i want to say isnt absorbing the bump or pothole.... Its felt thru the whole car... our car isnt meant for off roading :)

No hes not, our suspension is soft. We have softish springs and large bars.

To the OP:

Are the bumps that cause your issue offset? Are they only being hit by the wheels on one side? With a big sway bar sometimes that can upset the car and toss it around a bit.

yeah usually one wheel hitting a bump or a groove in the road that makes the car tramline very badly.

i just feel i can't push as hard as i'd like in the corners unless the surface is blemishless.

I never have those problems and Manitoba roads are the 2nd worse in North America.

Everyone knows about the rear sway bar bushings but few realize that the front bushings need replacement about every 25,000 miles.

Start by checking over your bushings, front and rear. Then check your end links on the rear and again on the front. Now take a look at the shocks and replace any that are leaking.

If your cars pulls left or right, get an alignment (4 wheel) Mazda does them for about $75.00. While their in there, have them check over your front suspension for worn or bend control arms. A bent control arm can be the number 1 cause of wheel skip during turning and a probable cause of pulling to one side.

When this is all done your car will handle like new again.

lets be honest... unless your talking a 5"bump or more... your gonna feel it.. but its not like its gonna push your car so wide or loosein thee front enough to get a push... so.. with that said.. who cares this is one of the best handeling cars out there... if you "soften" it up more... your gonna have tons of body roll.... weight transfer is bad through turns... we all know that... your car can take.. .89 g's i think on a skid pad... so im fairly certain even if its bump your only gonna get a schreech and a re grip and continue on...

I think you need to get your toe and caster checked. I run a lot of toe out, and on the freeway at 70mph the ruts and dips will grab the car and pull it all over the place.

As far as the "wife's ES" goes, look at the side walls of the tires, of course hers will ride better.
