Well said, Carl!

Well, his name is craig, greg, but close enough. for me anyhow :D. And thanks for the support craig, you know we gotta tag team sometimes to get the point accross :D

I'm curious on this number 1 in the drags are RX7? What happened to the good ole Detroit Muscle car? And if so, much $ did it take to make RX7 the #1 drag car? Educate me in this. I don't know that much about drag so I wouldn't know about this. If you want to talk racing (a sport where more than pedal to the metal is require), then yes RX7 is an awesome car for racing.

As for this, obviously i meant import drag racing einstein.

Ok so youre saying IF the seal breaks...well IF anything could happen on any car. just because the potential is there, doesnt mean its not designed well enough for that to rarely happen.

anyways, like craig said, i was stating a simple point which as usual some retard had to turn into an argument. funny thing was, it wasnt even MSP bashing or anything. yet supposedly i only bash msps

Is it just me or to people not even read posts for content any more.

Everyone just wants a damn argument now. Its impossible to hold a conversation here any more/

been driving the mp3 for a month now, and I miss my speed a lot so I took it out today.

Let me tell you this, I LOVE my Speed....no question about it. Drive another car for a while, and you'll see just how lucky you are

very true.

To matthew - look i didnt mean to come bashing down on u like that and for that im sorry. Someone started to compare the msp with the rx7 and then u jumped in doing what i thougth was "defending" the idea of comparing the two. i do agree with every point u said about the rx7 (i never doubted its quality or reliability issues). i also agree that it's retarded how ppl are expecting the performance of a $40,000 car and start bitching because it "let them down." Personally i thought u were one of those "proud" owners who was disappointed in their car and started to say how u would have gotten an rx7 and fixed it up etc. thats what ticked me off and thats why i "chimed" in. I love my msp and i bought because for what it's worth. It was where i wanted to spend my money, and i for one don't have 6 grand to use for mods.

well before the msp i had a 02 spec v and, as always, there was bashing on the forum, but with good reason. that car's engine was nicknamed 'the time bomb' lol. well i suppose its worked out now... but wow i think the msp is 100x better in build and quality

Then the 02, no question. That thing is just terrible for reliability. A budy of mine is on the 3rd tranny.

I don't doubt it.
I have talked to many people on various forums about proteges becuase they wanted OUT of there Spec-V's

have you ever been around or involved in the rotary scene? if so you'd know that alot of those cars are untouchable when it comes to performance and looks. sure they can be problematic but for the most part can be pretty bulletproof as far as the engines go if you maintain them properly.there's only 3 moving parts on the damn things, its not too tuff to keep them working. tuning on the other hand can be tricky

Thats no s*** I had two older models 83 GLS's and those things ran forever. I had one for 6 yrs and only changed the oil twice!
Yeah I didn't care if it died or not. I parked it under a tree in the back yard and 2 yrs later my brother in law pulled it out rebuilt the clutch master / slave cylinder, pulled the plugs sprayed some stuff in the rotor housing turned it over by hand then put it back together, pushed it down the street and drove it home.
He sold it for a grand a month later the AC even worked!
Amazing. It had some 215/50/13 BFG tires on it.
I put a Racing Beat Street Strip clutch/ pressure plate combo in it and some sythetic gear lube. I really wanted a street ported 13b with a paxton. I just got too busy to work on it so I gave it way.

BTW It had 283000 miles on it!

Personally, I think it depends on what cars you have owned, and driven. It takes time to notice the little things with cars that make you love or hate it. So ust driving a car, doesn't always let you really get to know a car.

I don't really like my Mazdaspeed that much. It's a fun-ass car to drive, it handles awesome, gets great gas milage. Sporty, looks good. But....

But I don't like the bad seats, I don't like the road noise, I don't like the crappy built interior. I don't like the clunk. I do alot of driving and the Mazdaspeed isn't the best road trip car. It's an awesome weekend/fun car though.

That is my opinion. I'm getting rid of mine because it's more of a car payment than I'd like right now and i'm not in love with the car. It's a nice car, but i don't feel bad getting rid of it.

i liked my 03 spec V :(

i didn't have a single problem in the world, the 03 spec had the maxmima tranny in it, and granted it had a different gearbox, and it was a little clunky, but you can't ask for a more fun to drive car. oh well, to each his own =)

Zombie thread alert!

I wish my P5 was a 'Speed.
I should have waited a year.

Although in retrospect, if I had known I was going to be starting college soon, I wouldn't have committed to an investment like this. I'd have either stuck with the Miata I was driving at the time, or would have bought a 2G RX-7.

Hindsight is 20/20 I guess...
