DIY Heel Pad Suggestions

So, I just bought a new set of factory mats for my P5, but I don't want them to eventually wear a heel hole all the way through like my current set. I've looked online for heel pads/plates and only come up with expensive options like the momo plate. I'm fine with hot gluing/riveting a small piece of rubber mat there, but I'm not even finding something like that. Does anyone have any suggestions for adding a heel pad to factory mats? Thanks!

I did this when the dead pedals were for sale and matched my other pedal covers with a medievil back when he first started doing pulleys and stuff. I would have liked it to be just a bit bigger but it does the trick for my automatic...........the wear on the mats in pic were there before puttin in the heel pad. It has done nothing bad to the heel of any of my shoes.

nice i like that good idea looks good too did you just screw the plate right into the floor or did you put a small plate under neath the heel pad

What I want to know is where did you get factory mats from? I have been looking for a set and have not been able to find one.

Cheers
David

I found mine on ebay...a guy had a few sets, but I think I got the last one. Keep your eyes open, they pop up occasionally.

I thought about something like that, but it's too narrow...and I don't even know where to begin getting a piece of metal cut to size. I would prefer something like i12drivemymp5's setup rather than a straight piece of steel. And I'm definitely not going to use diamond plate...not a fan.

The dead pedal is screwed to floor. The heel pad is not screwed to floor, only screwed to the mat. The mat comes out just like it did before. I have those threaded flat washer nut things on them, not sure what they are called. Short screw, none sticking down into carpet, just barely long enough to go thru mat and catch threads on the flat nut thing. Bottom of mat is flush. This is the type of thing I used........connector bolt

Something like that would be great...where did you get it?
I got it from the medieval guy on here back when he was doing the dead pedals and pulleys and stuff for P5s.

Dang Medieval! He made such great stuff...too bad he screwed people out of their money. Anyone else have suggestions for where to find something like this?
