I'm really baffled by this one. In this day and age, how can Mazda leave OUT a warning light that your washer fluid is running low? I've had this on my last 3 cars for crying out loud.

This, and 10s of other things you can read about in "why I can't pull the lever and lift the hood, magazine". Due out this fall.

FWIW, I HATE HATE HATE washer fluid level lights. Why? Because I am too lazy to refill it. So I have that stupid reminder every time I turn the key.
People ask, What's that light? It's the STFU light. It illuminates because you won't STFU.

(rofl2) +1

you dont know how often I would have to refill my old car... to the point that the light was on more than not. It was soo annoying because as you said as soon as someone would get in the car with me "whats that light?" would be the next statement.

sad as it was, I was known for always having the washer light on. To the point my friends used to bet on whether or not it was on when we'd take my car.

For those who dont get alot of snow or dont drive in it much its no biggy. But for us up north when there is wet dirty snow and washer fluid is the only reason your able to drive straight its nice to know when your running low.

My car has that light...but I don't drive a MazdaSpeed3...

I have the light as well and it really is annoying. It's not consistent either - it goes on and off depending on whether you're stopping/accelerating or going uphill/downhill.
I must have been right at the light on threshhold. Finally got it filled at my oil change (lazy =).

if you randomly wash your rear windshield and it doesn't spit out fluid i would say fill it up within the next week... thats the method i use when i start to think i may be getting low and when my rear wash doesn't work i know i only have a lil left... or if you really want i could probably draw you a diagram and a write up to make your own fluid level detect... it would probably run 150-250 depending on how common a 12v fluid detetct switch is....
