Disco Potato (GT28RS) Spool Up

Well, I changed the wastegate spring out, and the lowest boost I can run now is right around 12-13 PSI. I had to turn my boost control knob all the way down!! The .86 A/R makes for a laggy turbo with the manifold and downpipe I have now. This will be fixed in time. The response is a little better now, but this was not the problem. Time to upgrade to better-flowing downpipe, and manifold.

Here is a pic of the weaker 0.250 BAR (3.626 PSI) spring:

Ok, I finally found the answer to this problem. It was one or more loose t-bolt clamps. My car spools a lot better, and the low-end power is back.

seriously, i know they are "better" but i have nothing but trouble with those. unless its a dead straight piece of pipe they dont seal for s***

Linux... Punch The Cat or get a Pipe section made to replace the cat...

You will not believe what that will do to your performance..

Keep the Cat Pipe and swap it back for Yearly Testing.

I've found that the seal good when they are properly tightened.

i have but they are thicker clamps so if there is any curve or the silicone is loose just a little it creates a leak.

i know how to properly tighten a clamp mr. :)

So I'm guessing that everyone that spools really quick with the GT28RS has a 3 inch exahust? The reason I am asking is because I am kind of spooling the same as before WITH tubular manifold, but with 2.5 in exhaust with CAT. What will be the difference in spool if I go to 3 inch exhaust?

I remember when I used to be CAT-LESS. That was cool on my old setup.

Recently I removed the entire system from the Turbo Back and had a 2.75" DP made that goes directly down to about 6" from the road, with 1 Bend.

It has only 3 bungs for the O2 sensors.

Good savings of 65-75 Lbs off the car.

I see 10psi @3000rpm's with a Stock msp manifold,2.5'' corksport DP on a GT28RS with an .86A/R....

Are you CATLESS?
