Disable Horn with Remote Start

I just purchased a CX-9 and had the dealer install the remote start. Just wondering about disabling the horn that sounds when I start up. I got the remote start to warm the car on cold mornings. At 5 a.m. my neighbors probably wont like to hear my horn. Thanks from the new guy.

I had the same issue. My dogs would go crazy at 5:00 AM and wake up the wife and kids. The dealer said there isn't a dip switch on the module to disable the horn. Since I never honk at anybody anyway, I pulled the horn fuse that's under the hood.

That's pure insanity. Do you know you would be criminally negligent if it could be proven you disabled any safety equipment, especially in the case of a major collision involving loss of life.. Believe me, in that instance, investigators will go over your car with fine tooth comb.

Better an ounce of inconvenience that a lifetime of regret.

I told the dealer I was going to do it, and they agreed with me that it would be the way to go. Nobody uses there horn around here. I think the last time I honked at somebody was back in 1998 to scare some friends, and I bet my wife has never honked in her life.
I hear your point. I just don't think it's that big of a deal.
