Anyone get DiRT 2 yet?? Was waiting for it for a while, and it's been absolutely awesome so far. The trailblazer events are intense. Add me to PSN for some races. Name is Falango.

Didn't buy it but I play the demo alot. Is there a free roam mode of any kind in the game?

I know, but remember the old ATV Off-Road PS2 games? They had awesome free roams where you could launch off these huge mountains or do wheelies for 10 miles lol.

And honestly, I miss an old fashioned nfs free roam. Mod a car and go beat up the streets hehe.

Nope, no free roam. The online racing is fun, but has seemed kinda easy so far. Buy it!!!

I've been playing the demo. I like it, and will possibly buy it. I like how Travis Pastrana isn't the only in game personality you get to hear from this time around.

Who knows when it's going to come out. I bought my PS3 just for GT5, so I called them and told them DON'T **** IT UP!!! My guess is somewhere between another year or two. Games have come a long ways in the last 3 or 4 years, so they can't hold off the release for too long before it feels outdated.

The game is good, but for those who haven't picked it up yet you are better off waiting for NFS Shift which comes out Tuesday. I played all the upcoming racing games for this xmas season at a vendor show. Shift and Forza pretty much walk over everything else.

Also played GT5 which is not as good as Forza. I have played and loved all of them and have to say hands down that Forza 3 is the winner this time unless they make some big changes to GT5. Last time I heard GT5 is shooting for christmas 2010.

I'm waiting for Shift as well. Since I heard it was moving to a sim racer, I was very interested, but atht eh same time, wasn't hoping for the best, since NFS seemed to under-deliver alot. I'm really hoping it has a sim feel to it, because I absolutely love the career idea and the layout of the game. Lucky for me, I have an instructor that works for EA, and has worked on prior NFS games, so he can hopefully get this for me for next to nothing!

I agree with everyone's statements. At the rate of GT5's "R&D", they'll get passed up by a few different companies. I got tired of playing on the same tracks a long time ago.

What I don't understand is, if they could make improvements available through software downloads, why not just release the full version of the game already???

NFS Shift looks absolutely amazing. I'm very excited about this one coming out. Along with COD4 MW2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2. Cannot wait!!!!!

Word of mouth and Metacritic are a big factor in how a game sells. If they release it and its not up to par a lot of people don't stick around for the updates. If it doesn't come out solid it can seriously impact sales. Not to mention they already did this in a way with prologue.
