Dimming Stereos

Ok...
What's a good HU that will be able to dim at night. I currently have an Eclipse that I'm for the most part happy with, but the damn thing doesn't dim at all at night, even though the illumination wire is hooked up.

I'm currently running stock speakers with the 100watt spare-tire sub. No amps or anything else....Yet.
Oh yeah, it's a MP5. Yellow.

What do you guys/gals reccomend, and why.

If the deck has an illumination wire and isn't dimming then it either isn't hooked up correctly or there is an option in the menu system that needs to be turned on.

The store's Eclipse rep couldn't figure it out and they've had this issue with a few other decks besides mine now.
The bastards.

They're going to let me trade out for a diff HU, so I'm trying to get some good ideas, plus I kinda want one that will do MP3's also.

Check on the dimming though, damn near every alpine does.
