Dim blue gauge accent lighting?

Anyone else have the blue accent lighting in the gauge cluster be really dim with the headlights on? From pics I've seen of other people's cars, theirs seem to be much brighter, like this one from Mazda USA's site:

On mine, you can really only see the blue up top, then it gets dimmer as you go down the gauges. I can hardly make out the "mazdaspeed" on the tach in my car. Yes, I know I can just replace the LEDs, but I think mine should be brighter than they are from the factory. Oh, and the accent lighting is independent of the dimmer switch.

Did you press the top left button to dim the red? I think that's how those pictures were taken...dimmed the red and a longer exposure making the blue more pronounced.

Yeah, I've pressed that button because each time I disconn the neg terminal on the battery, it resets that button to the dim setting with the headlights on. I didn't think that's how they took that pic, makes sense now.

there is no possible way the lighting is that uniform on mazdausa's sight unless they shopped it somehow. the deep blue is coming from those little nipple up at the top, and it doesn't evenly focus the light around the numbers.

it's just like pictures of burgers at fast food joints, they never look that way in person. those pictures are taken by professionals that's only job is to make the burger or whatever look perfect.

Not fixed, just comes with having a longer exposure. I do think they disabled the smaller "spot light" blue LEDs for that picture, though, and just left the blue ring.
