Oh, also, if I can get a CAI from you does it come with a bypass valve? Or do I need to purchase it separate? I'm looking to get the one in the first pic from your site as opposed to the second which I found on protege5online.com.

if it's a CAI, it's from injen. AEM doesn't make a CAI for our cars. the difference is negligable.

Awww, pooie. Yeah, I was wondering if I was a little mixed up there. I checked out AEM's new V2 on their website - damn I wish they made that for our cars, I'd get that! Sounds nice too and it looks like they really put a lot of R&D into it to make a great product. Doesn't come in red though, sux.

Hey, so wait, what's the difference between the two pics I posted? I want the first one, what's up here? Because they are definitely different.

the first pic you have up there from dave's site is a generic pic. it won't fit our car. i'm not sure what car it will fit. the second pic is what you will actually be getting. if you get the injen, then it will look like this:

if it was me id go with the short ram if you get alot of rain where you are.. the bypass valves have a tendency to fall apart and u dont want to suck that foam s*** into your car.. there is no real gain diff between the cai and the sri.. the only reason i got the injen was there was a group buy and i got a killer price.. but when it rains like today i cringe everytime i have to drive. -=P

Ok, I gotcha guys. BlueMP5Dave I will take one RB Exhaust for $415 and a Red MT AEM intake for $170 and we'll call it a deal at $585! :D Cool.

mypfizzle - I hear ya, that was my biggest concern w/the CAI but I was under the impression that the CAI was always a better option compared to the SRI. Thanks for the help!

for our car, an intake is an intake. there's virtually no difference between AEM, injen, ractive or the ebay varieties. fizzle makes a good point. although i haven't hydrolocked yet, i get REAL nervous when we get the monsoons.

its been raining like hell out here the past 2 days.. i drive slow as s*** and try to keep it under 3 grand.. LoL.. i cant afford to blow this motor cus i wanna be cool and have an injen -=P
besides.. the sri is better for nos applications later down teh road -=P
heh

Awesome. And you have the AEM's in red? I just sent in the necessary form for my tax return today, we got direct deposit which takes about 10-16 days, is that cool? I will keep this thread subscribed and send you the monies via paypal once we get our return. Thanks man, I can't wait! :D

The main difference being one is a catback and one is an axleback correct?

So you are getting a more complete system with the racing beat than the HKS, but you could always have a cusom mid pipe made to fit up to the HKS I suppose.

Also what are the ID's on the 2 systems, I know racing beat uses a 2.375in SS pipe and I think HKS is 2.25 or 2.5?

Comes down to personal preference really, wont be a big difference in the systems unless your running boost or some other higher numbers.

No problem and red is available.

Thanks

Good deal. I'll pm you when I've sent the monies and give you a heads up. Thanks again!

You should be pretty happy with that combo b/c that's what I have...copy catter!! Just kidding, the AEM SRI gives the engine a good pep and makes a cool sucking sound and sounds sweet during hard acceleration (burnout). Plus it's pretty easy to install - just follow the directions - took me a coulple of hours and it was really the first time working on a car engine(cheers)

Byter! :p Cool, thanks for letting me know your experience w/this combo. I can't wait to get this in and installed! Unfortunately the chances of ME actually getting to do the install is slim to none since I'm married to a technician. I'm like, let me do the install, he's like, sha! whatever, you don't have professional training! Oh well, maybe I need to get some decals. :p Gotta get that 20+ hp boost off a couple of APC logos right?! (laugh)

Edit: Hey where do you guys get the graphics for the rollcall of vendors you've used? I'd like to start a red rollcall on my car down the side and of course I'd like to get the AEM and Racing Beat. Dave do you sell/provide those as well?
