Diesel particulate filter and consumption

Mazda CX-5 2.2L Diesel AWD 6AT D
I noticed than approx every 300 km (186 miles) my Mazda CX-5 2013 starts to consume significantly much more diesel (approx additional 4 litres per 100 km) during next 10-15 km (6-9 miles). This phenomenon may depend on driving habits, e.g. usually I make 40 mins drive to work and back and shorter runs during weekend, but I was never able to figure out when it happens more or less frequently. I've driven by now 10 000 km (6 200 miles).
It is annoying, as I was never able to reach Mazda official consumption results, but even it's worsening my personal statistics each time.
I looked around on internet and it seems that most of the people take care more about diesel particulate filter (DPF) lifetime than daily consumption. They are likely right.
I believe that at time of that increased consumption the active part of this filter is working injecting more diesel to engine trying to clean out. So far, I had no warning light for oil pressure or making more frequent service.
I'd like to know if others have also noticed similar and if anyone has an experience with DPF, especially from Mazda.

No need to panic . It sounds normal to me. I am not sure about the 300km frequency as I drive shorter routes so I can hardly tell when its doing a regen, I just know every so often, the fuel consumption will rise for a few km's and then slowly drop again. You could always pop into your local dealer and ask then to check if there are any updates for the car ( software or ecu, I'm not sure what exactly but I think the update means regents are less frequent). I got mine done at Mazda Seon. Too frequent regents can result in oil level rising, but so far my level is stable just between full and the x mark and I even have the old dip stick "oelmesstab" in. Car will be serviced in a month and we will see if they change to the newer c type without me asking.

My cx5 has 8,993 miles 95% motorway oil rise is 4mm off dipstick X .Spoke to dealer actual conversation
Me can you advise on early service due to oil reaching X on dipstick as my drive is mainly motorway and this was one of my concerns when I purchased vehicle.
Dealer Answer
Sir when your car is on a regen cycle you need to drive the car in lower gears as the regens need to be 3000 rpm +
Me but there is no indication to tell me when this happening also defeats the reason on buying this car for the great MPG claimed on your brochure.Felt like the what came first scenario the chicken or the Egg so have decided to expect my oil changes are going to be early at approx 10'000 miles and considering fitting a noid light to give me a indication on regens

Yup a regen it's not as obvious at in the aussie spec cars where the i-stop turns amber when a regen is on.

3000 rpm+ for regens, I think they're thinking of how to drive if the DPF warning light comes on to clear it which is 2000rpm not 3000rpm. all that info is in the manual. The dealer does sound a bit dull to me.
a faulty exhaust pressure sensor(EPS) could lead to the oil level rising excessively. if you don't have dipstick c your car could well need a s/w upgrade, EPS check & new dipstick C. You're about 75% of the way to a service in mileage terms which is not far off, it depends how long it takes to get to the x i suppose.

I'm getting 47 mpg+ driving around town mostly with 12K on the clock.

Just about to book mine in for it's 2 year, 20'000km service. Oil level is about 5mm higher than the X now after sitting just below it for the whole winter, it's shot up recently, this is with the old style dip stick. Don't think I will mention anything about the new dip stick, lets see if my local Mazda experts change it without me pleading with them as normal. With rates of 100 per hour labour here, I just want the bear minimum done. With oil and other stuff I don't expect cheaper than around 400!
