Did the original MS CAI come with a replacement for the plastic breather hose?

I bought a used MS CAI from a guy on MoCC forums and tried to get it installed but the guy who was installing it for me says it's missing a Rubber tube that connects the shorter pipe to the turbo inlet. Here's a picture of someone else's:

So I contacted the guy who sold it to me and he says that he never actually had it installed and so he never noticed that the piece was missing. He bought it off some other guy of the forums years ago. He said that the dealers would likely have the piece for me. So I go to the dealer today and of course they're mostly clueless. (huh). First their parts guy thought Mazdaspeeds already come with Mazdaspeed Cold Air Intakes.. After showing him my stock box and the MS CAI installed on a Speed 3 that was getting its oil changed there he started digging in the papers to see if he could get the parts number for that rubber piece. Anyway, he finds some installation instructions that show the piece there, but also finds a packaged MS CAI that doesn't seem to have the piece when he opens it up. He says the one he opened up is some version of MS CAI that isn't designed for California emissions and they're sold out of the ones that are designed for California emissions and those do have that piece. The mechanics there never installed the type of CAI that was in the box so they don't know if it's supposed to have it or not. When he called Mazda, they just told him that AEM makes it for them and they buy them in kits so they can't get just the rubber piece.

Anyway, since the parts guy had that box there without the rubber piece, maybe the old CAIs didn't have them? Am I supposed to use the stock piece instead:

I don't want to get on seller's case until I know for sure that what he sold me is actually missing stuff from the original box.

Yes there is another elbow in the kit.

Contact AEM and see if they can sell the elbow separately (they make the CAI and usually you can buy things separately through them.)

Edit: The elbow you missing is AEM part number: 5-274
Trying to find a place to order it.

Also any coupler would work...

2.5" to 2.75" 45 Degree.

...Still trying to find the exact AEM part though.

Yeah no joke! I did a double take when I seen the photo. I took that when I first got the MSCAI from the dealer in the winter time and couldn't help but just unbox it and stare at it. Didn't last long, I still ended up installing it in 10* weather.

To stay on-topic, there is a rubber coupler required there. Also, while installing it, make note that there should be 1 larger clamp and the rest will be smaller. That 1 larger one attaches towards the inlet.

Yeah, sorry for taking it from another thread Silver, I wanted to be clear what I was talking about.

It's all good man. I just checked the address of the picture and I was surprised it was already saved on someone else's webspace.

I guess the parts I need are listed as these on their installation instructions:

5-274
103-BLO-4020N
103-BLO-4420N

But turns out AEM only sell subparts through their dealers, so now I've gotta contact those...

i dont think your missing. you remove a blue clip but i cant remember where, and put it on the aem, or mscai. then the stock hard hose clips on.

and goin by your parts and aems site. your 5-274 is the rubber coupler from inlet to first pipe.

your 103-blo-4020n is is either a 40mm hose clamp

lastly your 103-blo-4420n is a 44mm hose clamp x3. take pics of what you got or hit me up (661)526-8349. name is rico will try to help you.

The blue clip you're referring to is the vacuum line, which does unbolt from the stock inlet hose. However, the entire inlet hose in the OP's picture is supposed to be removed and replaced with the coupler mention above (5-274). The vacuum line then connects to the inlet on the MSCAI.
