you would have to submurge an intake filter entirely and rev the engine for it to suck that much water in to hydrolock it, no way enough water would going through the opening on this hood to do that
If you want an explanation for the gains read the Feb. 2004 issue of turbo mag. There are so many ways to see "false" gains on a dyno. The "big" fan they put in front of the closed hood is nothing in comparison the the air at 60 mph. Does this mean at 60mph you would see a gain of 13 whp? Probably not. I still say those gains are bs.
mp3moose- i had a g-tech in my mustang and took it to the strip. It was usually accurate to within 2 tenths of a second but the horsepower is off. I used a dynojet to do the comparison.
I would like to see a EVO style hood with this dg motorsports ram air duct(hint hint vendors).
And who cares if the ducting isn't for an MSP, it's called custom fab your own damn stuff to work with it. I know I would, I think this ram air, with an FMIC would really help out the air temp of our cars.
