I've only been able to do weekly washes on my Mazdaspeed3 so far this spring/summer, so I finally took the time this weekend and gave her a proper detailing.

Here's what I did saturday

-Wash with foam gun
-Rinse
-Clayed using soap from foaming gun as lubricant
-Rinse
-Wash again with foam gun and a fresh bucket of clean water and a new wash mitt
-Wheels, tires and wheel wells cleaned with Hi-Temp's Wheel cleaner
-Tires dressed with Meguiar's Hyperdressing 3:1 while wet
-Dry with California water blade
-Finish drying with waffle weave MF drying towel
-Polished paint with Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner & Polish on a Meguiar's cutting pad via the Porter Cable 7242
-Applied Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax over entire car via PC
-While the NXT cured, the wheels/tires were cleaned with Quick Detailer and the tires dressed with Meguiar's Hyper Dressing (again). Wheels got a coat of NXT as well
-The exhaust was cleaned and polished with generic glass cleaner and #0000 steel wool
-Engine bay was cleaned with Meguiars APC 1:10 and dressed with Hyper Dressing(3:1) as well
-Exterior windows were cleaned with Stoners Glass Cleaner
-Then the NXT was removed with the PC and a MF bonnet
-Then the entire car was misted down with Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer and another MF bonnet on the PC
-Engine bay and door jams were cleaned with Meguiar's APC (1:10)

Thanks for looking!

Wow. Great job. How long did that take you? I've always wanted to thoroughly clean my car like that. Just too hot and the sun dries everything before I get a chance to wash it off.

Well, I have a side business detailing cars, so I've very well practiced in detailing cars. This took me roughly 3.5 hrs start to finish, but then again like I said, I do it often.

Holy Crap! That long?! I think I may take the car to someone professional, I don't have all the cleaning agents needed. About how much would I be looking at for a job like that?

That's actually a pretty quick detail. It all depends on the condition of the paint prior to the detail. Heavily swirled and/or black cars will take longer.

I charge just shy of $200 for a full exterior detail (basically what I did to my car on Saturday)

Dang... talk about destruction of bank account!

$$$$$(gun)

No offense, but detailing is hard work and in the wrong hangs, a buffer can be a DANGEROUS piece of machinery.

You want quality detailing, you gotta pay. I think I'm on the low end (price wise) of the high quality detailing out there.

Yeah, he's right, he's on the lower end of the spectrum for detailing. I saw that PWNED "STI Forester" at the Friday Night Lights meet with some of the other Mazda folk...

So, what would be included in a $200 detail, because I'm interested (not for the immediate future, but sometime... maybe next spring).

Pretty much everything I did on Saturday on my car (see my first post)

Basically everything on the exterior will be cleaned and detailed. :) PM me when you're ready.

Oops sorry.

Yeah that won't be for a long time hehe.

Besides... I need to get some scratches, abraded sections, and chips fixed. It'll probably be balls expensive.

Very nice job blue. I finally got to clay my entire car, polish and wax as well. It's a world of difference for a few hours of work!! CWP ftw!!!

I would pay that if I didnt know how to detail and if you were using Klasse and Zaino products. Looks good.
