what do people really think about them? are they ok to put on the car? will they pull the paint off, will they pill off at some point in time? are they hard to put on? what is the best kind made of?are decals the way to go rather then paying for a costly paint job?

Decals only look good if done well and are designed for the car. Getting generic graphics almost always look bad. IF you don't have the knowledge to create one yourself then either hire someone who does or get a paint scheme you like professionally completed.
i can design my own, i am an artist, i have been drawing/painting since i was a child.. i also went to the art institute of dallas after high school, so i have alot of the design in my back ground. thats not a problem,, it's getting it made or having someone put it on for me... although i am very good with that sorta stuff... hmmm
i could airbrush it on? is that possible or do i need a special kinda airbrush or body brush for that sorta thing??

i like SOME graphics. They are fine to put on. They won't peel the paint off. If put on correctly they won't come off, mine have been on for about 7 months. Easy to put on if you know what you are doing. Get vinyl. Vinyls are good for the car for resale usually(can be taken off easily), with a crazy paint job not as many people will be interested.

call Angel at Synthetic Designs, he will help you with a choice. SyntheticDesigns.com. He is based in Ft. Worth, Tx. I used to have graphics, no it wont peel off paint unless you own a 1966 Datsun. The only real problem you have to worry about is exposure to sunlight. If the graphics are on for about 3 or more years, the paint under the graphics wont fade, and the rest of your paint will. Btw, Angel designs AND installs the graphics.

Has anyone done a multiple layered vinyl designs on their car yet? I am more referring to the looks on Need for Speed Underground.

nope his car looks awesome. The fenders fade.

looks good, i am playing around with the idea of designing my own. my husband says he knows i can do it, it's just the act of doing it..lol between kids and diaper changes..lol i'll somehow get it done..and the fact that i have artistic ability.. he thinks i can really do this.

I put vinyl graphics along the side windows. Its a tribal flame that I cut to fit the windows and installed without any difficulty. Just use soapy water in a spray bottle, line it up, and squeegy out the water. If you have any bubbles when your done, use a needle to let the air out and they flatten out just fine. I get compliments every day.
