Dent pop trick????

Umm tinfoil would = scratches

It shouldn't.... Not unless you are dragging it with a lot of pressure across the surface.

Another way to do this that doesn't require the ice or compressed air is to simply use cold water. That would be a sufficient temperature difference. In theory, the hot air expands the metal (slightly) and then the rapid addition of cold water causes a rapid contraction of the metal causing it to pop back into place. Keep in mind this works only on dents that are:

1) Small
2) Shallow
3) Circular in shape

If you don't meet the criteria above, don't expect it to work.

You don't need Aluminum foil either. Just heat it with the hair dryer as suggested.

hmmmm. this will be an interesting fix. i have one tiny dent on the front bumper that drives me ******* krazey. if there was a way to easily remove it cheaply, i'd be all over it
Don't do this on your bumper! The bumper is plastic and even a hair dryer will cause some damage. On the bumper, you can probably just pull off the cover (really easy) and pop the dent out with your hand from behind.

An autobody shop probably doesn't want the secret out on what they do when they charge you $1000 to fix a dent.

3 weeks ago, I got backed into in a parking lot and it left a good size dent to the left corner of my front bumper. Since then, the dent has popped out on it's own. I'm guessing since it's been pretty hot here in So Cal, that it expanded. I was a bit surprised at first, but now I think it's pretty cool that it's repairing itself lol.

yoooooooooooo, very good point. i didn't even think about the plastic. the s*** is so minor and actually on a crease that even if i got behind it, i wouldnt' be able to do anything due to the location. like i said, it drives me ******* krazey.

there is also another imperfection on the bumper. these two combined has been enough food for thought to potentially replace the entire bumper. i'm just not feeling the autoexe

i tried the lighter and the duster the other day... It didn't work. But it didn't hurt the paint either. Somebody else might have more luck than me though I had a paintless dent repair guy look at mine and say he wouldn't be able to fix it lol. It's not a bad dent just the location I guess.

The corner of my rear bumper was pushed in and I tried to push it back out by hand, but it wouldn't work UNTIL I heated it up with a hairdryer. If you don't use high heat or leave it in one spot for like an hour you won't hurt anything. I also tried the heat/canned air trick, but it didn't work. My dent is so slight though that you can only see it if you're at the perfect angle. So I don't know if I was actually hitting the dent with the hot/cold b/c I couldn't see it very well from the side. A football bounced into my door and it looks more like a ripple where the metal was stretched than a dent.

i leaned on the rear door and my ass went inside leaving a big dent... when i popped it out it became worse and the bodyshop will charge me over a G to fix it... it sucks!
