Which one of these is the best for my car and my mods, adding a PG Turbo Inlet and PG short shifter (shifter probably won't have any play though). Thanks for the input!!

Umm, the factory plugs are iridium. It's nearly indestructible, unlike soggy platinum that melts like a fat man jogging uphill in Death Valley.

ITV-22s are closer to the needed gap than the NGKs. You could easily get away with ITV-20s (stock heat range) with your mods.

If you plan on getting an AP anytime soon though I'd get the one step colder ones. I had the NGKs and they were gapped too far apart. I re-gapped them and put them back in my car and had some horrible stuttering issues and I don't think I had damaged 'em. Not saying they aren't a good set of plugs, I may have just gotten a bad set.. I got the Denso ITV22 and they came pregapped for OEM but I re-gapped them to .026~.028 and they've been runnin' like a champ.

Iridium plugs are a necessity for the high temps and pressures in the combustion chambers of this engine. Platinum might survive, but would have short life, IMHO. Mazda put iridium tipped plugs in from the factory for a reason - far better resistance to high chamber heat than platinum.

As to the choice between NGK and Denso, it's a toss up. Sort of like Coca Cola and Pepsi, or Blondes or Brunettes or Redheads. Both are good and both have their fanboys, and both can and have failed.

It is true that the NGK's in the step colder range come gapped .044 and do need to be gapped down to .028 or so, while the Denso's may be closer. I'm running the NGK's simply because I've used them in many different applications over the years and never had a problem. Guys can say the same about the Denso's.

BTW: unless OP is planning on going with several pounds of higher boost by way of AP tuning or running a big catless dp, stock heat range will be a better choice.
