delay on the 1-2 shift

I'm on the verge of purchasing a Maxdaspeed but have a question.

Automobile magazine stated that there was a delay during the 1-2 shift that was similiar to what I experienced with a Subaru WRX.

Is this the turbo? The ECU? What causes this and is there a way around it. It also feels sort of like the drive-by-wire throttle in the GTIs. Annoying.

No prob here

I guess I may be lucky but I have had zero problems with my car.
I thought I had the clunk once but I had a dang can of tire cleaner in the trunk DOH!
So far at over 3000 miles in a little over a month of ownership I have had nothing but smooth reliable power, shifts good, drive good, and gets great gas mileage. I do drive very conservatively during the week to save gas but I have tried to make it stumble, and have never had it happen. I have driven all over the rpm range and have just had nothing but a perfect running little car.
I did smell coolant a couple of times when I first drove the car but after checking the radiatior fuild on several occasions it has always been topped off. I mean completely full. I have checked all the hose connections and havent seen any indication of a leak. I also havent smelled anything now that I have some miles on it. I did have a rock behind my brake cover once that sounded like the car was tearing it self apart but that was fixed with a flat head. I just popped the small piece of gravel out from behind the disk and all was good. Scared s***-ite outta me for a few minutes though.
All in all Im pretty damn happy.
