I'm ready to install my Defi blue racer boost gauge (standalone gauge, no control unit like the BF series), and have a question with regards to wiring. I noticed in the how-to the OP tapped the same switched fuse for both switched 12v and illumination. His reasoning is that the Defi BF gauge face is tinted and he needs it always illuminated, day or night, to see it.
Not sure if my Defi racer gauge is tinted or not, but another guy with the same gauge tapped the tail lights for the illumination instead. I get conflicting info either way.
Recommendations?

I went ahead and tapped the tail light for illumination.
