Dealers and your mods, all good or problems?

Just getting a feel for how you and your MSP's are treated at the dealer. I am getting a MSP this week and it won't be long before I start modding it. I have had to be carefull with my 1.8T GTi but it is easy to swap a chipped ECU in and out for service. Besides that they haven't bitched about my other mods. Any of you been busted yet? It's been my experience that most companies don't want to see warranty claims for 10+PSi on a turbo that was factory set for 6 or 7. :(

The service manager at my dealership knows what I have done, and knows what I plan on doing in the future...The last time I was in there, they were joking about all the stuff the could void on my car. He owns a pretty nice Corvette, so he knows how important performance is...He even told me not to wait for Mazdaspeed stuff. He said if they ever make anything, it's just gonna be overpriced anyways. And in my situation, my warranty will be over with by May/June of 2004 anyways, so no use in holding out for warrantied(sp?) parts.

Wow, you guys are pretty hardcore on the warranty thing heheheh. I'm just concerned if I slap on an MBC and other gear the dealer will freak out. From what I've seent our dealer is not performance oriented in the least, too bad. I'm also talking about a brand new car, so it's hard to say.

they'd void mine if i went to go back to the dealer, so i said **** it i'll go to specialty shops and have them fix it and just pay whatever... cash is not a problem here.

well if ya dont know what it is, i suggest having a proffessional install it too ;op.

btw mbc = manual boost controller
more info ebc = electronic boost controller

My Service Mgr. is awesome - he's personally helped me with mod related stuff....

Come to think of it, I never had a problem with my '00 GTI at the dealer either - and I had a ton of stuff on that...

Guess I'm lucky... :D

Since it isn't, would you like to pay my car off for me? ? ? :D :D :D

BTW,

my dealer had a bad run in w/ someone else on this board (whom I've stated is selling his car now) and will not tolerate any mods done to the car at all :(

I'm guessing I'm gonna have to find another dealer if I want to mod. Maybe that's why I haven't started (not even a drop in filter yet)
