finally got my dealership (borgman ford/mazda) to realize what the noise is that their techs can't hear. I showed them the thread about bushings with 40+ posts. Thanks a lot whoever put that thread together. After reading through it the tech said "We'll have those bushings by Friday".

Thank goodness. Finally.
:D :D

yeah right, they won't have em by friday. They're always on backorder. Expect them in 2 weeks or so. But that's good that we could help. And since it's still the middle of winter and cold as hell up here expect them to only last about a month and a half before the clunks are back.

Which thread did you print out? I need to take it in friday when I go for the fourth time to get mine looked at. I requested a drive with the service manager with me driving. They also told me the tranny doesn't grind from 2nd to third. I'll be letting him hear it all.

My dealer now keeps bushings in stock for me LOL

It's almost running gag now, I'll get my bushings replaced, and as I walk out the door their like "I'll see ya Tuesday for another set :)"

newf that is funny but it sucks that it has come to that. have they given you a reason for the bushings to just fall to s*** after such a short life span

yeah, design flaw....and their right so I don't argue it. The way the suspension is geared up, our bushings are taking most of the preassure of the car as it sways from left/right over the bumps. The more bumps....the faster is wears. Why are they worse in the rain.....because their wet, and they slip more because water get in between.

All common sense really, and that's what makes me so mad about mazda not fixing it. It's not hard....just release one that is made the RIGHT size( on both the inside, and outside of the bushing, because the sway bar changes diameter from what I can see), and something that WON't slip, and were done.

My mechanic the other day was going on and on about the busings....he's frustrated as well so I let him vent. He also said that our endlinks are different then the ES's, and that the sway bar is actually shorter? Apparantly they took an ES, and my MP3, and put them both on a ramp, and compared side by side.

Oh, and I don't want to jinx anything......but I got my bushings done over 2 weeks ago, and they put a s*** load of teflon tape on it as well. I thought I heard the clunk almost 4-5 days later, but I haven't heard it since. Killer is, and this might be because of the ice built up underneath (I hope), but every now and then there's this great big ass BANG! from underneath, like the sway bar slips. It could be Ice caught in the sway bar, but I can't tell yet. It's VERY cold here lately. Regardless, I'd rather a loud bang once every blue moon, then a clunk over every single pebble in the road.

Yeah, I had mine done about 2 months ago and the squeeks are comming back in the front.... kinda sucks.

I have the clunck it sounds like it comes from both sides. should I wait till spring or just get it done now? I dont know
