Dealer installed on Mazdaspeed 3

Is anybody aware of a reflash on the ECU when the Mazdaspeed ColdAir Intake is dealer installed. Techs welcome.

If you had an MSCAI installed and the dealer did a reflash it was just a coincidence of timing. The only reflash I have heard about is a voluntary emissions reflash. They are calling it the OBDII compliance reflash or something like that.

yea, the instructions from mazda that come with the intake jsut say unplug ur battery before removing the stock airbox, and then plug it back in once the ms cai is installed.

The dealership told my dad that he needed one. He had the CAI installed on Monday picked the car up on Tuesday and had a cel the next morning.

Perhaps whatever cel he got is easier to get prior to the OBDII reflash. I have had an MSCAI for about 15,000 miles now and never got a cel from it. Lots of small parts replaced per service bulletins, but none caused by the CAI. We have at least one Mazda tech on here who has gone on record as saying there is no CAI specific reflash. Believe me, we would love to see Mazda release a set of maps optimized for their CAI, but it just doesn't exist.

Thank you for your help guys. I skipped the emissions reflash. I still am not sure what values it changes. Anybody know about that or do I start another [thread?] sorry. I'm a new guy.
