Dealer Cost of Mazdaspeed in Canada...

Try Carcost Canada...I do not believe there is much markup for the vehicle and I haven't heard dealers are discounting them much in Canada (Canadian must like Orange Mazdas more that Americans!). With the last of them flying out of the lot, you are lucky to find one now!

actually, rumour has it, there are still a lot of oranges around, and they arent selling like people think. Even my own dealer doesn't want to bring another one unless it's sold before hand, and even then, they don't want another one, mostly due to the clunk problem. But that's another topic.

I can remember someone found out what the dealer cost was in Canada before, but I can't find it....arg. Thanks guys

thanks guys, but this is cost of the car for us. This is not dealer cost....which is what i'm looking for. We've known the cost of the car for us now since late last year.

Dealer cost is much lower then MSRP. The msrp on the 2003 was 26995 +freight. The cost of the the 2003.5 is 600 more. If we knew the dealer cost, we would know how much room we have to haggle. If they only pay 23000 for the car, and try to sell it for msrp( for ex. 26995), then we know they are making just over 3-4 grand on it. See? Then we know they have that much room there is to possibly go down in $$$.

I'm guessing they are paying somewhere around 24 grand on these cars, but I can't confirm it. And Dealers won't tell you for obvious reasons.

I am still waiting for my orange MSP to arrive from vancouver. They said they already requested for the car to come in, but it is still in vancouver port. They said it will take 10 days to arrive in calgary. Can't wait

thanks logan, I'm surprised it's above 25 grand though, I was thinking 24,500 or something. So the dealer barely makes 1800 bucks off the sale. interesting.

$ 1800 is about right ( hint hint ), they also make money on frieght and PDI, there is some cost to the dealer for frieght but not what you would expect. At the end of the day they end up with about 8 % gross margin on a car, that is why you can't put a car on a credit card as the dealer pays 4 % to the bank.

You have to factor in the dealer holdbacks.. so they make more that way too... considering for most dealerships.. the cars weren't on the lot for very long..
