Dead MSP

Well its sad to say but my 2003 Black Mica MSP is dead. Over the weekend my boy drove my car home from the bar we were at hit a deer and the rest is history. We clipped the dear spun and the next thing I know is we were in a colvert facing the other direction. My car had to be towed out of the colvert and up over the guard rail to get it back onto the road. This ******* car is trashed. All the body is crumbled, the wing is gone, and windshield cracked. Because they had to drag it over the guard the floor boards are now crushed up in the car. Needless to say but the car is totaled after only having it for about 5 months. Dead at 8000 Miles.

You know I have the worst luck in the world. I let him drive because he was not drinking and he hits a deer to total my car. You do the right thing and let someone be the designated driver and this is what happens. Well I guess we are lucky because everyone that saw the wreck says that if we would have hit the guard rail then we would have probally not lived to talk about it.

Going out on Monday to try and find a new one. Hopefully they will have some MSP's around here. I would like to have another. Keep your fingers crossed.

I totaled my MSP after having it for only about 9 months with 9400 miles on it. It sucks dont it?!?! i hated it. I flipped mine, but my girl and i were perfectly fine so that made everything alright. Sorry to hear about your lose but i can sympathize with yea.

That sucks! Is your insurance gonna cover it?? We had a brand new Volvo S60 at the dealership I work do the same thing, only they just ruined engine parts. But their insurance paid for it to be fixed.

yea I have full coverage plus gap coverage. I'm just wondering how long this process is gonna take. I am driving around in a bright red malibu rental and it sucks.

that really sux, but be glad you both came out with your lives. Also, take the insurance, and if you're in a good finacial position with the insurance money, put a down payment on a STi, or get another speed, whatever blows your hair back...you did the right thing letting your sober son drive.....

Agreed.

Extra nana points for you!

when I say my boy, I meant my friend. I don't have kids but If I did I would not go get drunk and have my son be the designated driver. I just wouldn't go out.

Definitely props go to you for having a DD. I know it seems like you did the right thing and got punished, but look at it like this. If you had been the one driving (impaired) and hit a deer think how badly things could have come out. Losing your car and then having to deal with a DUI and all things associated with that, just because of a friggin deer.

So like I said, thanks for doing the right thing and I am happy to hear that you and your friend are ok. Of course I am also sorry for your loss too. Best of luck with finding another MSP and if not a suitable replacement.

I don't know if I am gonna buy the car back. Like I said I've onl;y had the car for about 5 months so the insurance is def. gonna take the car. If it is not alot of money I will buy the car back and part it out def.

Right on.(drinks) Sorry for being a vulture.
That really sucks about your car and I hope you get something else nice if you aren't able to find another MSP.

I really would like to get another MSP. I called the dealer were I bought the car and am waiting for them to call me back. Maybe they will have some left. Hopefully they do and I can even get a better deal then I did last time.

It all depends on your ins. company. When they ever decide to look at it, if the damage is bad, most likly they will total it. Look at it this way, you wont hear that clunk anymore!!

Glad to hear you're ok. Like everyone else said, You did the right thing by not driving. No matter how bad the situation looks right now, it could have been 10 times worse. Good to hear you had gap insurance as well. It'll definately take a lot of the headache out of getting another car.

Yeah my girl is driving the same thing, only difference is she's paying $300 a month for hers!

Hey OT: If the rental is a 2003 can you see if there is a real obnoxious clunk constant like at slow speeds as if you were doing a 3 pt turn, or pulling in a parking space? ( goes clunk, clunk, clunk as u turn the wheel) It is really pissing me off, and twice the dealer said they cant do anything and checked other malibu's and say it's normal. You cant miss it if its there. It's almost like a blown ball joint or something.
