2006 Mazdaspeed 6
So I turned my 2006 speed 6 on to remove a couple cds and I kinda forgot to turn the ignition off. I left it on for about 6 hours so of course it was dead. So I jumped the car and it started right up, but my check engine light and my traction control light are on and the car is running really rough lots of stutter. What is the problem and how can I fix this.

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post or if I didn't post it right I am kinda of new of this forum.

Thanks for all the help.

you reset the ecu. its relearning everything. try removing the battery connect once more, now that its full charged, and reseting the ECU and now that you know, drive really normal and grandma for a couple hundred miles.

You should always recharge the battery prior to running the car. Only in emergencies should you jump start. The reason for this is in most cases (including the MS6) the factory alternator cannot both recharge the battery from dead + power the car. You can actually burn up voltage regulators, alternators, and battery cells by doing that.

OK so I disconnected the battery again. When I started the car it stuttered a bit then jumped to about 3500 RPMs and then slowly went down to normal idle rpms, but the check engine light and the traction control light are still on. Will these go of in time or do I need to take it to my mazda dealer and have them reset the computer.

Charge battery, start, see if CEL persists. If so, take it to any auto parts store and pull the code. Cycle your TCS/DSC button (lower left corner next to dimmer) and see if that goes away.
