ddogg777's forged F/I MP5 project

So, if I am looking for 350bhp, I would have to have the 440s up to a duty cycle of 85% and a fuel pressure of 80psi. But I didn't see what the operating pressures of the RC injectors are. I know that ~45psi is factory, but I can go higher than that after I put the inline pump in...

Turbo P5, what fuel pressure are you planning on running that requires hard lines? BTW, what are you waiting on now?
RC injectors are rated at 43 psi. 350BHP you may be OK with the added fuel pressure. You will need to get an adjustable regulator so that base fuel pressure can be increased to a minimum of 45psi while idling

If I saw the end price I probably woudn't have done it!

Nick and Huk, thanks for the info! Do you guys think it would be better to stick with the 440s and just control fuel pressure (I guess I don't need 25psi, maybe 20-22) or try out some 550s or higher and try to tune it to those (Hiboost would be the actual tuner I guess ;)). I know some of the pros and cons of larger injectors.

I would stick with the 400cc's
Adjustable regulator and about 20psi of boost for now.
Tune the car on a dyno and see what you can squeeze out of what you already have.
I think you will be fine.

how much are you talking about?
2002 Mazda P5 $11,900 (8500 miles)
Hiboost kit with E6X $3995
HKS SS $190
ACT SS clutch/plate $190
Indigo Flywheel $290
RC440s $325
JE pistons/rings $300
Pauter rods $450
Mazdaspeed LSD $550
ARP head/main studs $180
copper gasket $63
Gasket kit $130
Hi-Perf bearings $90
Tranny fork and ring $70
TWM Shortshifter $105
machine shop $500

That's all I can remember now. Close to $20000. But it will be a awesome performer when finished!

you might want some slicks... i think you would need axles for the kind of power you lookin for. even with lsd putting that kind of power to the ground is going to be a little tricky. i am planning something like what you have done for this fall. i'm interested to see your final result.

should be a fun result, though i hate to spend that kind of money, i can do it at my leisure, as opposed to an astronomical car payment and insurance payment.

goddamn you've spent almost half what you paid for the car?
People have different tastes.. Some buy $30,000 cars and put on $4000 in rims. I bought a cheap car and in the end, it still will be less than a lot of other cars out there. Tell you what, no one will have a car like mine...no one. My custom car computer with 5.1 surround sound and molded indash screen that I did by myself will make sure of that...
Call me proud if you want, I just think everyone should use their talents to make them unique and special!

i like that point, supposing that everything works out all right, i may go somewhere along those lines in the future.

ddogg just be really careful running RC injectors. Call some shops, you will find out that LOTS of them will NOT TOUCH them. RC spends lots of money on advertising so you hear "RC" and think they are kick ass. I have been in the dyno shop alot and seen many many many RCs stick open and or stick shut with lots of power. With the 440s running 15 psi sure youll be ok maybe. Just be careful bud, dont want to see a blown motor. I am glad to see someone go the diff route and really mod the car, most on here dont mod much, they slap on a turbo run 10 psi call it good. I wish I could continue to mod my car, but plans change. Your comment about the car and making it be diff is what I wanted. I think it was mainly because no one is crazy enough to take a grocery getter and make it fast. i wish ya the best of luck bud.

peace- trav

i want to talk to you about the haltech set up. I cant get mine working for some reason. I cant get ahold of Juan either.

i instant messaged you. i am goin to LA the 10th to visit juan. but hes never sent me his address of his shop, he said hes moving... anyone know where his place is. i can find it if no one has it though. :D

I've been there, but can't remember how to get there. It was at night. Yes, he is in the process of moving shops.

Well, I finally got my block back from the shop. I had them jet clean it, hone cylinders, magnaflux, balance, and oring. I am not very happy with the jet cleaning process, it still left some rust and junk in the coolant passages. Do you guys think I should get it hot dipped? Or will I get the same result..?

Wow..seems like you are on the right track..good luck..and please keep us updated..also i would suggest..not goin w/ slicks...to many people blow good trannies due to slicks!

what is magnaflux? How much did this all run you, if you dont mind me asking? Just trying to research for a project of my own..

If your worried about your transmission heating up, MCR and Top Secret! Make fluid coolers for them.. I believe they both use Trust parts..get ready for serious money though.
